Why are you people talking about 50 shades of grey?

We were talking about the criticism surrounding Iron Bull's romance and people who were trying to equate it with 50 Shades.

This is where I gleefully pet my kinky story collection, hilarious as it is with it's huge amount of werewolves ...god a lot of werewolves. o.o Like a freakish amount of werewolves. WHY IS ALL MY BDSM WEREWOLVES. But at least it's better than that so it's all good. And now I actually get some kink out of my video games too, so holy hell, I'm content.

 

I really like how Iron Bull's romance shows ACTUAL AFTERCARE, where after sex he actually, you know, talks about what's going on between him and the Inquisitor after their monkey sex, and then ends up snuggling them down for round two afterwards. And that's in game, on our screen. Because aftercare is important and the big guy knows that. ♥ He also doesn't get growly or angry if you question him, and is more than willing to explain things to the Inquisitor so that they understand wth they are doing and how it works. He's just...hnngh.

 

My friend found this and gave it to me, and I giggled. I think it fits this topic very nicely. x3

Oh yeah it was bad. I've read worse but it at least had the decency to not pretend to be anything other than absurd smut. And the smut was actually good so...

 

But yeah Inner Goddess and the whole "fifty" thing made me want to punch babies.

Iron Bull is definitely fantastic. I plan to romance every LI but one, and Bull is one of the only two I plan to do twice. 

 

I'm actually getting into that play through now, admittedly while hopping around between a few others. 

 

I've made a redheaded rogue for Bull   ...and I'm thinking I'm going to go assassin, but I've also heard he thinks Tempest is cool so I'm torn.

Oh, I'm sorry. I briefly misinterpreted what you were saying when you said "It's not even so bad it's good category it's just." I thought you were saying something like, "It fits it's category"...which is why my response didn't make much sense.   Silly me.

He prefers his nipples un-cauterized, thanks. I went tempest, and I found it to be a lot of fun! It's VERY different from assassin. If you want to be all about stealth, stabbing people and then going back into stealth, go assassin all the way. If you want to LIGHT YOUR ASS ON FIRE WHILE YOU STAB PEOPLE IN THE FACE, THEN RUN INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE MELEE AND THEN SLOW DOWN TIME TO STAB THEM SOME MORE, then go tempest.

 

The capital's are important, because when you are playing a melee rogue tempest, you think in capitals. Trust me on this.

I didn't play ME3 but saw a video of Garrus's imitation. Pretty much had me dying of laughter lol.

It has a shirt, it hides his chest! I cannot approve of this armor no matter how good it looks. :<

 

Someone should mod it to remove the dark leather shirt part, and just leave the leather, then I would approve of it a million times. >.>

Also, from a writing standpoint, there were things about the books that make me want to start shredding pages. I've never reacted that way to a piece of fiction before.

Don't get me started on the writing. I couldn't get past the first chapter. Horrible, and smacks of the previous "version" that was on Fanfiction.net before she pulled it and submitted it to some contest. She got very lucky. And the fact nothing like that was "mainstream" at that time. And seeing how it was a fanfic of Twilight, of course the formula (obsessive male stalking female - but it's LOVE) worked again.

Just finished my first playthrough - though I'm disappointed because some weird bug/glitch stopped my romance with Bull flat. Ended up on that lonely balcony all by myself. *sigh*...

Well that is rather unfortunate. Before you walked off to the balcony what was your last conversation with Bull like? I'm not sure how it is with an un romanced Bull but there should be an option to tell him he could stay with you (or something like that) when he says for the first time he has no orders.

I did get to coax him to stay with me, telling him I could always provide him with the best fights. He laughed.
