Um, so; am I the only person who's kinda sick of seeing all these "Bull Betary's the Inquisitor and enjoys it" fanfics?

Stop that! It's OCC. Even if sticking with the Qun, I doubt he would enjoy it.

I assume it should have been "Bull betrays the Inquisitor and enjoys it"? I'll respond as such. I don't think I've come across fics like that. I agree though, I don't think he'd enjoy it at all.
Even if he stays with the Qun, I just don't see him enjoying a betrayal like that. Maybe if they re-educated him a little somehow after saving the dreadnought while they were on the Storm Coast or something. I can't see IB enjoying it on his own accord though but maybe Hissrad would.
Personally, I think he'd really try to distance himself emotionally from it (constantly telling himself it's a job and that he's fulfilling his purpose to lessen the pain) but he would still be tormented with doing it. I don't see outright glee at the betrayal coming from him.
I've never seen Qun!Bull in-game (or even watched it on YT). Does he give any inkling that he'd behave like that?

Qun!Bull... there's something subtle but kind of disturbing that's different in his attitude if he stays loyal to the Qun. The shadow of the Qun is always there, making you feel like you're walking on quicksand in the romance path. Does he love your Inquisitor, for real? Or is he keeping this casual, because he was he reminded the Qun is more important than anything, and that he can't be so carefree?

At the end of the game, he seems okay with telling your Inquisitor he will be leaving the Inquisition eventually because they will call him back and he will have to go. The Inquisitor is all: "Wait, what?" and Bull says he'll leave when the Inquisitor is ready.

The thing is my Inquisitor would never be ready, although the game makes you feel it's inevitable that he'll leave sooner or later. And knowing that Bull is so okay with just leaving is uncomfortable. If only he reassured you that he'd always come back to you and loves you. But he doesn't, so instead there's this "Oh, maybe he doesn't care that much after all then" feeling crawling under your skin.

Maybe he does care and he will come back, and it's just your imagination. Or maybe he doesn't want to care, despite the fact he cares too much. He cares but he thinks he shouldn't. That was not the idea, the idea was to have some fun. If he's a Tal-Vashoth, he's free to love your Inquisitor, unrestrained. But if he stays with the Qun...? Is he? Or does he think he should do only what he's supposed to do and needs to put his feelings in a place where they can be controlled and categorized?

I don't think he'd ever enjoy betraying the Inquisitor, though. It'd make him feel terrible. I think losing the Chargers hurts him more than being Tal-Vashoth and affects him in more profounds ways. So as I said in another thread: Romance? Save Chargers. If you don't, your Inquisitor will feel insecure about Bull's feelings at the end of the game, regardless of how fun was the ride.

Yeah, I meant "Betrays". Oops.

@ Eggplanet: I've seen a few and it...bothers me. Even worst when he's Tal-Vashoth and him being declared such 'was all part of the plan'. While I do think if Qun!Bull/Hissard was ordered to capture/torture/kill the Inquisitor, he would do it being 'demands of the Qun' crap; but he wouldn't like it. Hell, me and a friend were talking about another day that if the Ben-Hassrath asked him to kill the Chargers himself (as in by his own hands, not having to sacrifice themselves for the mission), that he would likely do it as well and it would kill him doing so. And I don't think any form of re-education is going to change that completely.

He had no problem killing 'Vints' and the Tal-Vashoth who hurt people; but what about those who are good people or those who choose to leave the Qun and live without harming anyone (And I do believe he was ordered a few times to do so)?

Bull has two major faults:

The first one is that he cares about people; both friends/people under his charge and those he swore to protect. A lot. What finally made him lose his cool in Serahon was seeing a school full of kids are poisoned by Tal-Vashoth and when those same ones killed his friend right in front of him, he gives them a no-holds-barred beatdown from holding in all that anger for all the death he's seen.

And why is he angry? Because of all those he cares so much about are either killed by Tal-Vashoth or become Tal-Vashoth that he has to put them down. And Bull had to deal with that for almost ten years when most who work on that island last only two at most.

And his second fault is that he's strong minded. His old Tama called him something that meant "One who Thinks" in Qunlet. And for those who 'think' under the Qun likely risk having to take a trip to the Re-educators. Bull already had one and if he goes back home; he'll likely be forced to do so again for being away for too long. What do you think will happen when Hissrad 'breaks' again? There's a reason his Tama was glad he 'got away'.

@ Esterula: As I said above; Bull cares too much about those who are close to him. And being his Romance path does play out mostly the same as if he was Tal-Vashoth with the exception of the final, I'm going to say that his feelings for the Inquisitor are real but he knows that deep down he believes he shouldn't. He believes something is wrong with him or at least thinks what he's doing is wrong even if it makes him happy. The Inquisitor themselves can even ask if this was all just 'a job' for Bull from the way he speaks about there relationship. Even if he assures it isn't, it still hurts. Something I kinda played with here.

There's no happy ending for neither of them. Unless Bull chooses the Inquisitor over the Qun by his own free will; which he likely won't happen, Bull will return back home and whatever was left of the Iron Bull will be sniffed out for good, and if the Inquisitor ever sees him again: well, as I said, no happy ending.

Sorry Sweeteaholiic I should have guessed it xd. But yeah.

As for the topic. I do really see a good ending for Bull...if players choose to make him Tal-Vashoth C: that is. I mean, in the end he really finds someone who truly loves him. Why he should return home? It doesn´t have any sense...His place is with Quizzy <3

In my first game I sacrificed the chargers, and accidentally pressed 1 in the watchwords cutscene. Yeah it sounded...like forced, I´d say? And then he tries to confort the inquisitor afterwards...He´s like: the Qun the Qun I only live for the Qun...I didn´t like it...but I suppose his behaviour made sense with that choice. Because is his duty, I think.

Now making Tal-vashoth is such a different story. Now we are talking!!...And when you tell him "Till the end" Oh my...Now thats a badass relationship xD! He emanates so much humanity...Arrrggggg!!!

Conclusion: I don´t see Iron Bull as someone who could betray Quizzy. I don´t know. It doesn´t suit him. He is just too great for that (in so many aspects) Should I find fics about betrayal I´d just ignore them ;). They can write whatever they want. My ideas are 100% clear: the only one I am riding and allowing to slap my butt is Bull ;D.

Was anyone else surprised by the design of his horns?

Especially considering that none of the Qunari in DA2 looked like that.

Makes you wonder if there are any Qunari with moose antlers or antelope horns.

Yeah  :D! Those horns haha!! There are so many details in these...Ummm  .But more than antilope/moose, I think these are more related to dragons xD. As for other Quinary...they arent that impressive.

And that is a theory also supported by Kieran and Corypheus.

I'd say it is no coincidence that the dragons in DA:I have horns similar to the Iron Bull's, unlike their design in older games.

Maybe, but the Arishok was in a class of his own. :P

@ Mengor: I was referring to Qun!Bull having a sad ending. Tal-Vashoth!Bull is stick around no matter what. It wouldn't surprise me if the Chargers work exclusively with the Inquisition along it still is kicking.

@ Qun00: Bull and Cole also hint at it as well.

In defence to the Arishok though, he had an impressive 'rack'

Hi guys. How are ya doing. I have another question.

Do Quinari/ Does iron Bull celebrate the birthday? I am assuming that they actually don´t...in the same way as humans do. Maybe some sort of tradition? Or they just don´t do anything..at all   I haven´t find anything in WOT2, Perhaps I am missing info in Wot1. Anyone knows anything? If not...I might have to headcannon something...Not sure.

Mengor: I don't think the Qunari participate in stuff like that. He may have picked up celebrating Name Day (which I think is what they call birthdays if I remember correctly) with the Chargers maybe.

Someone more knowledgeable please correct me.

Name Day xD? Isn´t weird? Poor Iron Bull! He haven´t experienced what a badass birthday should be like.... I might have to fix that somehow...As for the info, I thank you. Yeah, I thought they wouldn´t but I wanted to be sure.

Very nice 1st chapter Eggplantred! Keep writing as you are doing :D. Will Alcina satisfy Bull´s needs ^^? I also admire writers who have the ability to create a story with less words. In my case once I begin, I cant just stop typing haha.

Thanks Mengor!

I really don't focus on how much I'm writing, I just let it flow. My brain somehow seems naturally satisfied with 3K words or less though

I admire those who can pump out those large chapters and fics. I can't imagine how much work it must be to do it but I appreciate and love reading the results of the labor.

Well not really hard: a bit of imagination, another fair amount of smut, a good spoonful of Iron Bull and there you go xD. I suppose that when you take these things like a hobby they are easier to do hehe.

My problem now is a part of me wants to finish my current fic quickly so I can show to people while the other is like...eh..."No. Wait! Hold on! You are enjoying with Iron Bull! Don´t rush!" Yeah I know its..complicated hehe. (Same issue with WOT2, I want to finish it and yet i don´t  ^_^ )

Oh and...I don´t know why but I haven´t show you guys Denise´s amazing artwork. Here !

Is dark cause, that is one of the scenes from my 1st fic :P, in the balcony at night. Ahhh!....So close to him . Nnnnggg!!

I have Varric and bull in my party but I needed to step away and forgot to pause. When I came back Bull said, "that's hurtful, Varric that's hurtful". What did Varric say?

So my brain did another thing...

I'm still working on Painted Masks and making slow but almost steady progress on it, but then this happened and now my brain is full of ModernAU!Iron Bull and Adoribull kinkiness.

Who is just as kinky and amazing as he is in regular Thedas.

And instead of just letting the idea die I spent all of last night dreaming up all kinds of little details and basically fleshing out a rough draft into my head that I'm probably going to spend the night outlining. (I refuse to actually start writing it until the next chapter of Painted Masks is done.)

Why does this happen to me. ._. I just wanted to write Iron Bull having kinky sex why did it have to end this way.

Yay Sui! Just do it!!! If I felt like hunting down that Shia Labeouf gif I would...just do it!

You are such a bad influence! I'm in so many hell spirals already!

I'm settling into the idea that this is going to have to be something I write, so my biggest thing to plan is exactly what the Chargers do. Bull being such a nerd for architecture in hissing wastes makes me think something like that would be perfect, but I'm also considering some kind of law enforcement where Dorian is hired on as their criminal profiler? Idk. >_>

The most important part is, Iron Bull being considerably well off and taking good care of his team so that they are as well, and...wearing a suit.

>.> A very nice suit.

That he's more than willing to claw off the first chance he gets. >.>

Modern AU discussion!

I love the idea of Bull in a suit (I need a drooling emoticon on this site).

So how about a consulting firm, venture capitalist firm, or an architecture firm that specializes in historical preservation?

Consulting firm might be easier to conceive since they could work multiple projects in various industries. Venture capitalist firm would still give them multiple things to invest in. The architecture firm could play to both their nerdy sides/interests.

Oooh, Modern!Skyhold is actually a massive city ruin instead of just a fortress ruin, and they were hired by Skyhold Industries to restore parts of the city. Skyhold as a city was originally where people hid out to escape the wars waging between Tevinter/Par Vollen/Orlais etc, and then !!totally not the inquisitor!! decided to declare themselves their own city state and are beginning to rebuild an empire that is a safe place for everyone to live.  ... The city is massive and they've only settled a few areas/districts of it, but as more and more people flock to the Inquisition's banner, they need to keep expanding deeper into the ruins? And that's where the Chargers step in?

Rocky would of course specilize in Demolition. Dalish could be really good at the electrical engineering side of things, for reasons that are totally not obvious in any way. Stitches is their safety specilist, Skinner is security? Grim would totally be the ...style coordinator? Interior design? Because he may not have much to say but damn that man has a sense for color! /shot

And of course because they're delving into ancient ruins, clearing out whatever is lurking there, and then restoring **** in the most respectful way so as not to ****** off any angry spirits, they totally need a historian to help them with this! Someone REALLY booky and nerdy and ****. Wynne has decided to retire, and so Dorian is hired to take her place.

....

....

....

Yeaaaaaah I'm going to be running with this one.

Red, this is all your fault you know. ALL YOUR FAULT.
