As much as I would adore a romantically soft iron Bull, I'm interested in his interactions with the other companions, especially Vivienne. I know I'm opening myself up for heartbreak but I want them to be the best of bros.

 

In regards to Vivienne, I could see them getting along eventually after a period of hostility(Like Aveline and Isabela), mainly based on Iron Bull being the most likely candidate to call Vivienne on her high class (no pun intended)bullsh*t.

 

Vivienne: Steel alone will not protect you from the barbed tongues of Orlais.

 

Iron Bull: Of course it will. I'll use it to cut those tongues out.

I don't see him having a sense of humor at all and I hope he doesn't. & I just see him as a bad-a, tough guy. I can';t se him being Oh, I love you so much." you know?

According to the leaked survey he is a complete opposite to the stereotypical stoic humourless worhaholic qunari, so...

Given that his description is "a slap in the face to the typical humorless qunari", I think it's guarenteed he's going to have a sense of humor. I think it probably won't be quite as low-brow as Oghren or Isabela, but it's going to exist.

 

I think  a big part of Iron Bull having left the qun is he's going to have thrown off all the shackles they put on him. The qunari are supposed to keep theirselves very disciplined; Iron Bull is going to be a creature of the moment. When he's angry, you're going to know he's angry, when he's happy, you're going to know he's happy, and when he's in love, you're going to know he's in love, because he's going to actually have a spine and tell whoever he loves how he feels instead of cowering like a child and having his friend do it for him.*coughAveline*cough*.

At least that's what I'm hoping. I'm hoping he's going to be like the literary Conan the Barbarian in that respect; that he'll be tough, that he'll be a badass, but that he won't be guarded with his emotions.

 

I think that would be a good contrast to some of the characters we've had before, and likely some of the characters in this game. I see Cassandra as being the one who'll have more difficulty expressing her emotions.

That actually sounds a lot better than I was thinking. Thanks for that. This makes me even more excited for this companion. One think that I was afraid of about having my character be a Qunari is that I thought I might have to be humorless, but this definitely gets rid of that fear. Plus, I was afraid that he would be very anti-mage and dislike me because of that, but since he's so anti-Qun it is likely that he won't feel that way. The whole idea of "I think  a big part of Iron Bull having left the qun is he's going to have thrown off all the shackles they put on him." thing is also really cool.

Speaking of, I just realized that this thread hasn't had a dev visit yet. That's actually kind of strange!

 

As for the thread's activity level, I get the feeling that Iron Bull will either be the next Follower Friday companion or the one after that. People will start to get more excited after that, considering he's the first Qunari companion we've had in a while and the very first with his sort of demeanor!
