What I found chilling is how he swaps "Boss" for "bas" when he turns on you. That's when I realized he'd been stealthily calling you "thing" this entire time.
I think Bull just found the similarity between "boss" and "bas" too much of an amusing coincidence, rather than calling us boss as a stealth insult the entire time. What does feel awful is watching the Inquisitor and Dorian's reactions if they romanced him, that he still betrayed someone he called kadan.
The only way to think about it that makes it slightly better is to believe that Bull was lying in that moment and that he did regret having to turn against his friends, because the Qun demanded it. His gut punch declaration of "bas" was intended to make the Inquisitor feel betrayed and hate him, so it'd be easier for them both to handle being forced to try and kill one another.
That's my headcanon and I'm sticking to it, makes it easier to handle watching that scene! ![]()
