We know their view on sex, but not romantic relationships. I don't know how far the thinking of "does it serve a practical purpose? no? get rid of it." goes within the Qun. I think it's likely that they pick life partners that they love/have strong feelings for, and reserve sex solely for breeding. I mean, they are capable of emotions, so it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch.

Wasn't it implied that Seamus in DA:II had something going on with his Qunari friend. Not something necessarily sexual, but certainly romantic in nature. I think it was Gaider (or maybe someone else, I tend to associate any quotes about romance with Gaider) who was once asked why we couldn't romance Sten in DA:O, and his response was, "how do you know you didn't?" or something along those lines. Basically the Qunari view sex and "romance" as two separate entities, I wonder if this carried over for those outside the Qun, and whether it might be possible to form such a relationship with Iron Bull. My guess is unlikely.

 

Also I may have just totally put words in Gaider/Bioware's mouth, for which I'm sorry, but I could have sworn I'd read that in a discussion before.

 

EDIT: Names that start with S and have a "Sh" sound in them, I mix them up all the time. But now I have a new idea for a fanfic!

Interpret it as you want, though I prefer to believe it means asexual love as well

All that being said, Iron Bull's been out of the qun for ten years now. Their views on sex and love aren't necessarily his.

I'm not sure. Could be that he was a member of Sten's beresaad who survived the darkspawn ambush and went off on his own. Could be that, assuming the ten years is rounding up, stories out the outside world from Sten after he returned inspired Iron Bull to leave.

Sten really appreciates it if you understand when he's joking in Origins, actually. To paraphrase:

So Qunari definitely have a sense of humor in there, somewhere. It's just rooted in sarcasm, and they don't actually change their facial expression much so it's difficult to tell (if you're not into that sort of thing).

I suspect Iron Bull may retain a touch of that, though is over all humor will be much more...blatant.

Iron Bull's apparently going to have a certain strictness to him, as well, if the "harsh punishments" part of his description holds up.
