So apparently Patrick Weekes, who's the favorite pick as the writer of Iron Bull(don't know if that's been confirmed or not) has confirmed that one of the character's he's writing is either bisexual or homosexual.

Though I should also point out that Patrick is also (probably) writing for Empress Celene, who he's confirmed is a lesbian, and not just bisexual.

If IB is a gay or bisexual LI then I will probably romance him with my main Inquisitor. I wouldnt be too upset if I can't though. However, if I can, I can see him being bisexual over being totally gay. It doesnt matter to me either way though. If he isnt a LI, I think he should be straight though.

I've thought Solas was most likely to be written by Weekes. He really seems related to the elf plot contained in The Maked Empire, to me. He even has Felassan's violet eyes. A lot of people already think Solas will be bi, since elves "always are".

I suspect Solas will be more concerned with the mage problem than the elf problem, but that's just me.

I'm also suspecting that Weekes' statement was most likely about Celene or Briala, who he's most likely writing for.

I think it would be kinda cool if Iron Bull is gay.

Well, Felassan was a mage and supposedly all ancient elves had magic, I believe. To me, it seems more likely that Vivienne and Dorian are opposing sides of the mage freedom plot.

I don't think Dorian will care. His plot is going to be Tevinter corruption.

Solas is Vivienne's opposite in just about every way, from a physical stand point. I've been assuming that's visual short hand for the fact that they're going to be opposed on everything.

And there's no indication that Solas is dalish; if he isn't, then I'd imagine he'd care more about the mage plot than the elf plot.

There are also indications that Felassan wasn't Dalish. He had the facial marks, but they weren't like other Dalish and seemed to change. He didn't necessarily support the Dalish in the end and he had a lot more knowledge of ancient elves and the gods than a "normal" Dalish.

We'll see. Right now I'm still thinking there are a lot of comparisons to draw between Solas and Felassan, though. I wont be surprised at all if they're both something other than Dalish elves, but the same thing as each other.

I'm just thinking that Solas is gonna be a city elf apostate.

But getting us back on topic, how do you think Solas is going to get along with Iron Bull?

I think it'll depend on IB's opinion on Mages and Magic, If it is still coloured by the Qun or if he left them with his abandonment of the qun.

But I could see them getting along well, especially with Solas's smirking grin in the War Room concept art. Seems like his and IB personalities should mesh.

Solas does strike me as a troublemaker.

Iron Bull ought to get a laugh out of that.

I totally agree, but I think Solas might be Dalish but still care more about the Mage issue. I think he will care about the mage conflict most, but care about the Dalish issue second. Maybe Vivienne will be opposite on the Dalish issue too. But to be on topic, I think Iron Bull will have an indifference or positive view towards mages since he is supposedly the opposite of a Qun Qunari so I think him and Solas will get along. I can see them having interesting banter.

Solas doesn't have a vallaslin, therefore he is not dalish. Or even among dalish he is an outcast

Also, he wears shoes.

Then again, if he is a dalish outcast, that would group him together with Iron Bull, Dorian, and potentially Beard Warden as outcasts of their various groups, though it isn't universal enough to be considered a running theme.

Even if he opposes the Qun belief, he could still have some sort of suspicious towards mages. A majority of people in Thedas are suspicious or cautious when dealing with mages.

But I could picture them having some insightful or hilarious banter  ^_^

If nothing else I don't imagine he's going to be overly worried about being possessed by a demon just by listening to a mage speak.

Yes, and I think he will be opposed to the Quns way of handling the mages even if he doesn't totally trust them.

I don't know if he'd be opposed to it, not on the basis that he supports it but rather on the basis that he doesn't care.

I imagine Iron Bull's personal policy towards mages is "take 'em as they come, kill 'em first when the enemy fields them." But I don't imagine him having a bleeding heart for their plight, either.

You're probably right, but I could see him having that view and still not agreeing with the Qun binding their mages. I don't know, It could go either way though.

Iron Bull looks oddly resigned to his fate as a mount.  I wonder if Banana broke him in like a stallion.  ;D
