So he'd been coming to the decision for a while before he left, that the thought slowly grew over time.
What do you mean?
That IB was dissatisfied with his role in the Qun, and it just took time for him to leave. You know, as opposed to just ditching immediately. What do you mean?

Yes.
Maybe I should have worded it better.
I saw a theory floating around and it's been stuck in my head all day...
What if Iron Bull was in Kirkwall at the time of the Qunari attack...and he was blinded by Hawke?

I know but my point is, even then all he'd know is the Qun, he'd have no real exposure to other societies so regardless to when he leaves, he's still going to have the Qunari ethics and philoshies embedded into his mind. I feel like he hasnt wasnt exposed to it long, leading me to think he left relatively early in his life

Neat theory, except for one thing:
Hawke leaves no one alive.
The romantic in me still thinks he left for love. ![]()

Even Hawke has a bad day every now and then lol
After Weekes' twitts I suspect that maybe some qunari lady was involved. So what's our guess/thoughts on what Iron Bulls past role was in the Qun?
The romantic in me still thinks he left for love.
Or maybe because he lost his love ![]()

Though it is more likely that he simply never liked the discipline, lack of booze and too many rules to follow
What was the tweet if i may ask?

So sad! ![]()
Eh only thing is, look at him. The guy clearly would serve best being in the Vanguard of their army, the Qunari would see that and place him accordingly. They dont waste anything and it would be a massive waste of potential if they didnt make him a warrior.
One thing im taking into consideration is that from what we've heard, he's a jolly social drinker. I feel like someone who has spent the better part of their life in a society like the Qunari's, he'd still retain a lot of those habbits and philosophies not being as loose as he's been said to supposedly be. Imagine sten going Tal Vashoth (i know thats a hard thought) it'd be almost impossible at that point to make him view society from any other perspective except from the perspective of a Qunari, i feel like whatever happened that made him break away, happened when he was young.
That is the problem with any society based on a caste system though; It locks people into predefined roles, and as such, wastes potential. In Qunari society you could have someone who has the potential to be a polymath if circumstances were different, but because he or she was born to be a pot scrub, scrubbing pots is their contribution to society.
The Iron Bull being a fearsome warrior does not necessarily mean that he was born into the warrior caste. Many of the Tal Vashoth the player characters have met (or killed) in previous games were fearsome warriors as well, but most wouldn't have started that way.
"It is not entirely clear what motivates Qunari to reject the Qun, but one of the most likely reasons is the assignment of a low and unpleasant place in Qunari society. Some Qunari who have ambition above their station come to resent their place in the society, and thus the Qun; others, such as Maraas, seem to simply tire of a life driven by duty and purpose."
It is possible of course that the Iron Bull could have been born a warrior, and rejected the Qun for other reasons other than dissatisfaction with his station in life. But it is also possible, and perhaps even more likely considering the lore, that he was born in a lower rung of Qunari society.
Or maybe he lost his love
So sad!
So long as, if he's a LI, he doesn't frequently compare my Lady Quisitor to his lost love. I'm honestly sick of that. Mentioning her a few times is okay, doing it so often it feels like he's saying "you aren't as smart/skilled/beautiful/etc as her" is not.
^^You bring up some very good points. I agree with your analysis, Han.

Very well worded. So basically it could go either way at the moment ![]()

Pretty much.
Speculation ahoy! ![]()
On a random note:
So I was just remembering a movie I watched when I was little called 'The Chipmunks Adventure'.... and the only reason I bring this up is because they sing a song called ' Woolly Bully'......... So now I'm singing it in my head and picturing IB with a woollen coat or something on.. lol...... he he he ![]()

Is there a better way to pass the time on the bsn? ![]()
Nothing really specific. While writing his character he asked for some inspirational music. All other Bioware staff members advised music connected to sadness, loneliness, broken bonds and even friends-turn-into-enemiesWhat was the tweet if i may ask?

My earlier idea might actually be right, i thought he may have had a good friend in his squad that is now hunting him down for abandoning the Qun.
Yeah, I think so too. Maybe even someone whom he loved. Meeting Ben hassrath would be pretty awesomeMy earlier idea might actually be right, i thought he may have had a good friend in his squad that is now hunting him down for abandoning the Qun.
