I never thought I'd see my own picture in this forum wohoo :>

I was actually digging after some gigantic, Arishok-like horns, but it looked pretentious, so this happened instead. 

 

Now I'm thinking about immature banters between a tinyhorns!Inquisitor and Iron Bull about "horns", thanks a lot Eveangaline

Personally, if im going to have horns, i want horns that will make all other qunari horns look like thorns in a rose bush (with the exception of IB of course). I've been picturing my Qunquisitor with Arishok horns ever since they were announced as a playable race.

Agreed. And I hope really really hard that we can put horns like that on our lady qunaris or I am going to be sad.

I would imagine Iron Bull has a fair share amount of experience of knocking things over with his horns. Or getting his horns stuck in tree branches

When you recruit him you find out the entirety of his mercenary group is dwarves, they're the only people he doesn't accidentally knock around with his horns while making sharp turns.

I want to make a Qunari FemQuisitor with the Arishok's horns from DA2. Those were badass. Iron Bull's are cool, but those were amazing.

I do still find it amusing how much emphasis we fans place on the appearance of the horns while the qunari themselves don't care about them much at all.

 

Arishok's horns may have been a visual que to the audience that this guy is big and intimidating, but in universe among the qunari they're purely coincidental.

I would love to have arishok horns for my female Qunari! She would be so intimidating and awesome and add the fact that she is really tall and just wow! I mean Can you imagine how the NPCs are going to react when you enter a room, like the masked ball (male or female) I mean personally I would be like WHOA!

Well, the concept of horns is really new to us, isn't it? It's only natural there's such a hype about it. Then again, I didn't see much variation between the horns in DA2, with the expectation of the Arishok and Saarebas (his horns were sewn off though, we don't know how they looked in the past).

I would find both enormous and tiny horns for our inquisitor really amazing. He/She would either seem like the embodiment of intimdation, or underestimation (for everyone expect the qunari at least)    

I don't know about others, but I find the appearance of my protagonist to be really important, it's kind of influencing his/her character, so I am hoping for various hornsizes in the character creation. But that's just my taste and we know that there's no accounting for taste. 

 

I am really glad they gave Iron Bull these gigantic horns and I am hoping he won't be the only one in the game with such an unusual horn shape. Could imagine him to brag about their size when he's feeling like annyoing someone hehe.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm hoping for a rather impressive set of horns, myself(I prefer ram-style, if possible); I just find it amusing that as much as we're interested in it, in universe, the qunari couldn't care less.

I wonder if there will also be options for horn curvature, some might slick back, some upwards, some might have little curl, others might be spirals and horn colours as well, from ivory through mahogany to ebony.

Thing is humans regardless of that, arent used to seeing qunari let alone horns on a humanoid, so questions and comments about horns are bound to come up regardless to how qunari view them.

I agree, I mean there height alone can be intimidating for those that aren't used to seeing them, add some wicked large horn and its step back 3ft as they pass kind of thing.

Well, that's your opinion. The only definiton of a qunari's appearance that I could find, was that they have horns. Both goats and bulls are kind of related, since they're both from the bovidae family. Some on this site want ram-horns, so basically goat horns, too.  Besides:

Alright; let me be clear; as a piece of art, that painting was extremely well done. Very high quality on a technical level while also perfectly capturing the intended emotions.

 

As a personal opinion, I'm not a fan of it. That's not because it isn't well done, but because the content of it isn't appealing to me. That isn't to say I hate it, or think it's gross, or have anything offensive to say about it. It's just a subject matter that does nothing for me. 

 

The only thing I dislike, and this is purely a matter of personal preference, is that particular style of horn. It's just something I've never particularly cared for; I don't like tieflings with it in D&D, I didn't like the fem-qunari inquisitor in the concept art you just linked there, and I don't care for it in your painting. Like I said, just a small matter of personal preference regarding a minor detail.

 

Still, I apologize for latching on to such a minor negative while the painting itself is rather well done. And while I make no assumptions regarding what gender the targets of Iron Bull's affections will end up being, based on my interpretation of the character I think you captured him perfectly, at least in the manner he'd go about it.

So his head really IS a bit too small.  Even with the muscle in mind, his head seemed to be approximate to the other companions' heads in terms of size, when it should be scaled up with him.
