Its going to be a clipping nightmare unless they really work at it.
Two options:
1) All door ways were made for giants.
2) Add a unique animation for Qunari - they actually duck down when they get near a door.
Special animation would be pretty cool

I zoomed it in on a paint program and the top is wooden and what looks like a blade is a sheath of some kind. It looks more like a gun than a sword.
He's in if he's packing a gun.
