Please let Varric nickname the inquisitor. I'd especially love ones based on what you look like (horn head for a qunari, or muscles if you're a warrior or something)

 

I was sad he didn't nickname my Hawke, nicknames should be for everyone!

Varric nicknames Hawke depending on his/her personality:

Diplomatic/Helpful Hawke = Waffles

Sarcastic/Charming Hawke = Chuckles

Aggressive/Direct Hawke = Killer

 

Could only be heard through a banter on MotA

"Handsome Bastard" would be a funny nickname if you designed your Inquisitor to look like a Darkspawn

I hope for the same thing as well. Hopefully, Varric will be as friendly to our Inquisitor like he was on Hawke. But, you and I both know he somehow won't be.

He most likely would, given to the fact that he's a story-teller. I would very much like for our Inquisitor to be given the option to pester Varric with his adventures with Hawke.

He'll bring up the time Hawke was caught with a pirate and a greased nug, between the sheets!

I'd be severely disappointed if Varric stopped with the nicknames. And since Hawke didn't really get one, our Inquisitor should have that honour. And I liked that the DLC nickname for Hawke depended on their disposition. I don't know how feasible individualised nicknames would be for the main game (would they have to record every line multiple times just for one name change?), but it'd be a nice feature to have. Or maybe individual nicknames for the different races. (Petition to have Varric call the Qunari Inquisitor "Fairy" or something equally girly.)

 

Lacking that, I could also live with a general nickname for any and all Inquisitors. As long as we finally get one.
