They don't teleport they just distract you with their #SWAG while they shuffle over to a more advantageous position.

@ Anvos Reading the Scrolls of Banastor made me think of the discarding the body thing too, so we're both on the same track.  See, this is where I wanted to slap Tamlen.  What did he see?  Did he see people too, or was the underground city a ruin? so much unexplained you got to love it.

how fast...like in an instance, kinda like warping space and time.....

Mages teleporting in DA2 don't do it instantaneously. They disappear and reappear somewhere else a coupla seconds later. Plenty of room for calling that stealth-and-haste.

Eirene Got to say, I really liked using a stealth mod on mages just for that reason, as long as they still had the possibility of being detected at the wrong time, and not have the ability to wander about like a rogue.

If they wanted to put something flashy like this in how come it doesn't go to a committee meeting of developers first? Like in multiple universes created by Blizzard, the spell Blink, is an instantaneous teleport that transports you a little way ahead.

I'm sure they could work a teleportation spell into the game and lore without ruining the game if they would only talk to other people perhaps. Is everyone at Bioware afraid to mingle with teams outside of their own?

Maybe they did have a committee meeting about it?

Probably it went along the lines of "I'm sure our fans would understand. I mean, honestly, who's that pedantic?"

Then they all laughed and laughed and laughed. But little did they know that storm clouds were brewing on the horizon.

There's a game-mechanic reason why CRPGs have to limit teleportation spells. Same reason they may have to limit flying.

In the game-map, there are (invisible to the player) spots that are called "triggers". Those "triggers" often trigger cutscenes and events. They don't want you teleporting through or around them.

What about the spell in DA:O that let you fly across the country in the form of a terrifying blood rain?
