I'd put money on it.  Plus, you know the game is going to drag our butts into the Deep Roads.  I think I'm one of the few that is looking forward to it though.

 

I'm half excited for the Deep Roads because I'd love to see the beauty of it in the new engine but then there's the whole, you know, infestation of giant arachnids and mass darkspawn

I love darkspawn and arachnid fights, so color me bizarre and slap a Legion of the Dead sticker on my back. It's the repetition of past Deep Roads environments that'd drag to me, but it'll be shiny now, so that's enchantment enough to sustain me.

forgive me you are so right, I just remembered kirkwall and the ridiculous crap that i had to deal with.... Honestly. Magic in dragon age is supposed to be special yet these little abominations use it better than most, and yet no one in Thedas, not even the tervinter would care to know how, why and what the hell.

I wanted to point out that ghasts and the like have been around since Origins.  Feel free to go look it up.  

 

Abominations have been long established as being more powerful than mortal mages.  That's just a fact.  I know you don't like it, but it's not like that's been reconned any time recently.  I think you're just being upset for no good reason.

 

We don't know very much about the inner workings of Tevinter, so it's probably not a wise idea to assume much about what they do or do not study.
