What good is an army if you have to capture keeps for them, rescue them, defend their keeps, sometimes sacrifice the villages of people your army is meant to protect so that you can save their asses. After you do that, they huddle back into their keep, wait until someone attacks them, and the cycle continues. The inquisitor should be the one sitting in these keeps sending his armies, and agents to capture, rescue, defend keeps, and also reporting back to him, not the other way around. But apparently he needs them because... they give him quests and rewards.
The inquisitor's army is a burden. He only require 9 dangerous cliches with attitudes

Well, you do send Agents out to find or do various things to help your cause.

Yeah, that's the one I'm referring to. Anyway, if/when this thread goes under, it won't be Crowe's fault.

Actually that seems a legitimate concern to me. I hate games and instances where you have experienced troops that are completely useless and you're personally running around like a chicken with the head cut off to try and keep them alive. Instead of feeling like a commander, you feel like a preschool teacher trying to protect a bunch of rambunctious, scattered 4 year olds from a pack of rabid dogs.
define completely useless?

define completely useless?
Not being of any use? Something that has no use? I think those are generally the most accepted definitions of the term "completely useless".

Not being of any use? Something that has no use? Not sure what is so confusing about the term?
the fact that people tends to, what a polite way of putting it... don't use traditional meanings of words or use then loosely without saying so.
in this case, useless could being used as "need your help once" or "opens the gate for the bad guys" I would like to know which

I would say it is a combination of the Inquisitor not needing their help at all and the fact that they cant do anything without the Inquisitor's help which would technically class them as beyond useless and venturing into the territory of liability which kind of defeats the purpose of actually having an army in the first place.

yes, yes I've seen the video. but I'm wonder how you know they haven't be repelling repeated attack... or for that matter how the inquisitor knew their was trouble in the area?
I know you probably doesn't care about silly things like the still you've already decided their useless

1) Well the guard captain did say they thought it was bandits indicating that they didn't think it was much of a threat (though based on what we have seen I would be surprised if they could even handle bandits) which caused them to leave the keep, get their arses kicked then try to retreat back to the keep to find that they accidentally left the gate open and now the keep is occupied by the enemy, good work guys! One would hope that if they had been repelling constant attacks they would have turtled in the keep until momma Inquisitor came to save their asses.
2) Probably the same way the main character finds out anything in an RPG

So what you are saying is that either the Army or the Inquisitor needs to be useless? Both can't be useful in their own ways?

The OP brings forth a legitimate concern and is one that has annoyed me to no end in certain games where this is actually the case--being a leader of an organization while still serving as a lapdog for everyone.
It all comes down to how well BW will integrate us as the head of the Inquisition, both narratively and gameplay wise. However, we've only seen a fragment of the gameplay so it would be to early to judge. Still, consider myself skeptical til the full release on how they will incorporate a functioning system that won't make us do everything for everyone.
