I have a question?

What do you think is acceptable for exclusive content in Dragon Age Inquisition?

Are the following acceptable?

Book with artwork

Mabarri Hound

A few exclusive weapons and armour

Metal casing

A "Making of Dragon Age Inquisition" film

Featurettes of some of the major voice actors

Biographies of some of the major staff working on the project

More lore entries

A CD with the music of Dragon Age Inquisition (as suggested by a poster on this thread).

What kind of exclusive content is unacceptable?

An example of an unacceptable exclusive content is:

The mage class along with both of the mage companions being exclusives.

So if you get the standard edition you can only play as a warrior and rogue and you won't have the 2 mage companions either.

Personally I think those features would be pretty neat.

I'd LOVE a book full of artwork. That's a definite must.
But there has to be a CD with the OST in there as well.

Oh, and a statue of something cool in-game, maybe of an Inquisition-soldier or something.

I want my CE to give me a free companion that not only do others have to pay for but they have to wait an entire month for said character to be available to buy. I want Gamebreaking armor and weapons and I want a plaque that says "You just financed the tears and screams of millions of people that hate day1 dlc."

What do you mean by acceptable and unacceptable?

By acceptable I mean wouldn't make people angry (like a collectors manual).

By unacceptable I mean would make people very angry (like the mage class being exclusive DLC, so everyone else can only play as warrior or rogue).

Want more examples of unacceptable? (Don't worry. This won't happen in The Collectors Edition)

Dragon Age Inquisition: Collector's Edition

Exclusive Features Include:

  • Both of the mage party members.
  • The option to play the game as a mage along with all of the mage specialisations.
  • All of The Warrior and Rogue specialisations.
  • Spellbinder: An exclusive story content focusing on the Mage versus Templar conflict. (Without this content, the entire conflict is merely talked about).
  • Customise your gear and inventory with alchemy, smithing and enchantment stations.
  • 30 new NPC's including Sandal.
  • Increase your game's length from 4 hours to 30 hours with 15 brand new areas to explore.
  • The option to play as a non-human (Elf, Dwarf and Qunari).
  • The option to play as a female character.
  • The option to romance party members.

Now you've got to admit, if that happened (and it won't) this would be something worth getting angry about.

I don't really have any issues with CE content.  I never buy the stupid version(150 dollars for a toy lol)  Assuming DA:I is the same as Mass Effect 3, I'll pay the extra 20 bucks for the DLC character(everyone knows it's coming) and the art book or whatever else was in it, I think i threw the N7 patch in the garbage by now.

I don't care what it is in the CE as long as it has a statue of any of these:

Mabari.

Giant fluffy spider. Or scorpion.

Any demon besides Desire. (glowy rage demon..?)

Nug.

Dragon!  <3  <3

Or something along those lines.

I'd rather have them for regular edition.

Though that would be an enticing feature for a Collector's Edition.

A set of bonuses similar to the mass effect 3 collectors edition would be pretty awesome.
Sans the really quite story relevant companion of course- that was a ****** off.
I hope the bonus characters, if there are any, are more like Zaeed and less like Javik in terms of story impact.

Since your definition of what is acceptable or not is subjective, and you use extreme examples to make a point for what is unacceptable to you (and pretty much everyone) knowing BioWare wouldn't do that, I have to call bullshit to your entire premise on what you believe.

I have no qualms with a DLC character or mission, which is pretty much the norm with physical goods in a collectors edition. And it needs to be more than just a blank character like Zaeed or Kasumi, it needs to have weight to them.

I don't dislike collector's editions, but I'm not paying 10 or 20 bucks for a character people who get the collector's edition for free. Why? Because this makes the collector's edition a "complete game" edition. Don't ****** sell half a game to people who can't afford your jacked up prices. That isn't good business, that's just being a bleeping *******, and anyone who defends this practice is just as much an *******, and stupid to boot.

I'd like to see more cool USB sticks in collector's editions (I bought the Wings Of Liberty collector's edition just for that). Soundtracks are a good addition too, but the Dragon Age music has never stood out to me. It's atmospheric, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't put it on outside the game.

I read earlier today that there is a new Wolfenstein collectors edition that makes you actually buy the game seperately. So, that really is the only 'unacceptable' collectors edition I can think of.

In game weapons are fun, but I was always irritated with Dragon Age 2 that the staff from the cover of the game is a really random piece of DLC. One that didn't even scale, so you couldn't use it once you got your Champion Armor. So cool items yes, but not iconic ones; those should just be in the normal game, whether you buy it day one or two years down the line.

If they do a massive special edition with a statue, I would be super excited. But they didn't for ME3 and if they were ever going to do that, I thought it would have been for that game. I would prefer it wasn't a dragon though.

Artbook would be amazing. There has been lots online about how they came up with the characters/how their look is a part of them this time around, so any art with detailed explanations like that would be super cool.

There hasn't been a full release Bioware game since ME1 that didn't come with a day one companion, so that seems like a given...just depends on if that is companion number 9 or number 10.

Also, unlike DA2, I hope this games Black Emporium equivilent (letting you change your characters look) comes packaged standard. I'll be buying day one no matter what, but its a minor pet peeve of mine.
