I just feel lucky because Sera would have always been my first vote for the lesbian romance <3 Although I wouldn't complain if Cassandra turned out to be a bi option.

Lol we can trade notes

That's the only reason I think that tbh

The fanbase that wants Cassandra available for f/f is massive, but I believe Gaider had stated he didn't feel comfortable writing a f/f romance - at least I've heard that around the boards so it's really up in the air at this point.

Jennifer Helper was Cassandra's original writer, Gaider ended up with Cassandra last August...

Did Gaider really say that? I have a very hard time believing he would have an issue with writing a f/f romance...If that's the case, then that is uncharacteristically unprofessional of him, so I don't think I believe it.

It could be easily something like thinking one doesn't have enough experience in these matters to do the subject justice (along the lines of what Maria touched upon earlier in the thread, re: writing Sera) If that was the case I wouldn't consider being wary of one's own limitations "unprofessional" -- especially when it's the opposite attitude that gives us stuff like say, Transformers movies.

He could be uncomfortable in the sense that he wouldn't necessarily think that he would best for that. But I really doubt that he said that, considering the internet telephone game.

So would Dave, I imagine. But someone on a forum said it, five people quoted them, now they have six sources so it must be true. :P

I like that one. Are there any other songs you feel are Sera-ish?

I imagine Sera dancing hard to this, but she she'd do that selective singalong thing where she only knows the lala parts and "busting their noses!":

Yes, because I'm sure he also has a lot of personal experience with Magic and dwarves, that's why he writes about them so well :P

You don't have to have personally experienced something to make it interesting or compelling in fictional writing.

I had my human noble murder-knife Vaughn on my first unspoiled playthrough, and not knowing what went on during the City Elf origin. There is enough dialogue in the game both with other NPCs (like Soris) and with Vaughan himself when you meet him, to piece together that he is a complete bastard.

My only regret is that you couldn't pin Vaughan's death on Loghain and Howe at the Landsmeet. After all, his corpse was in their dungeon. That could have been amusing, and useful.

I left his ass in that cage! lol, you can tell he is a  bastard just by one conversation.

This is it, peeps. We have confirmation of a dancing Sera scene in-game.

IT'S TOTALLY CONFIRMED.

There's but a small catch here -- magic, dwarves, etc. don't have their rl equivalent that might get upset at what they could see as negative or inaccurate portrayal of themselves.

Lesbians, on the other hand... well, I'm pretty sure there's some lesbians in rl. :P

By that logic then he's also not qualified to write female characters in general because he's a man, and yet he does, and does it well, like a lot of writers.

Well yes, I'm pretty sure there is people out there who will think that a man is indeed not qualified enough to write female characters, and vice versa. Some of these people may even be writers. What someone feels "qualified enough" to write about is always going to be individual viewpoint -- some may think that just gender difference is enough to make it too difficult for them. Some may think it's when you have multiple points of difference (like gender *and* sexual orientation). And some may think of themselves as good enough to write about all these things (and in some case that may even be true)

The point is, if someone considers themselves not qualified enough, that doesn't make them unprofessional. It's more of the opposite, and it's known as the Dunning-Kruger effect -- it's the unqualified people that tend to overestimate their ability, while these actually capable will often underestimate their skill.

(and it's all moot derail anyway, but that's another story ;)

Man, yall are real freaky up here!  :D  As a male player, I probably will be BFFs with Sera but not in the "girly" way but more in the "I hit on her all the time but get shut down" way :P

I'm actually hoping there ISN'T an option for male Inquisitions to hit on or flirt with Sera, to be perfectly honest.

I'm hoping that maybe they will get one option but after the initial shut down they wont get anymore options to bother her, because ya know...I kinda wish that's how it was in real life, lol.

I do think there will be something about it, just as a way of showing that Sera is unavailable to male PCs. But I hope it doesn't go beyond that.
