One thing I do love is that we a have a black female character, and she's the most cultured of all of the companions, probably followed by the Indian-looking character. Also both are powerful mages which implies a high degree of intelligence and years of study. Boring racial clichés fully ignored. Nicely played, Bioware.

It's like she ran out of arrows and resorted to using her daggers uncontrollably.

Won't be parting her from her beautiful bow myself, sinful thing to do truly. But it is pretty funny to see just how lethal she is in CQC! ![]()

About the whole ice queen thing: I don't mind that kind of character as long as we get the chance to get in a good burn. If she always gets the last word, that's boring. I don't know if Sera will be able to pull that off.
Gotta admit her come back :'can you even shut it off' was laaaaame.
On the bright side I'll be there to kiss it all better. ![]()

Soooo I take it you're claiming the elf on your virgin run now?

With a few key differences:
Aveline wasn't arrogant and Isabela was selfish to the point of not caring who got hurt in her quest for profit. Vivienne takes arrogance as a lifestyle and Sera cares about the common folk.

Yea, I don't like Vivienne.
My party's looking like it is going to have Varric & Sera for sure.

*snipped because too distracting*
Knew you'd come to your senses, eventually.
I'm still not sure. It will depend. I'll be playing my 'Ragequisitor' for the first run, and I'll see who she gravitates towards, Sera or Josephine.
Maker help me if I find them both equally appealing. *sigh*
Just because I hardly ever post in other threads and I write sexy fanfiction about Sera doesn't mean I like her. Or... does it? ![]()

Sera clearly likes winding people up to see what happens, while Vivienne is obviously a master of The Game. We're seeing two completely different styles of verbal fencing coming at each other head-on. It's beautiful and you don't quite know what's going to happen, like a Samurai in combat with a seasoned street-fighter.
Gotta say I love the snark from both of em, it's delicious!
I agree with both points. I like the term "verbal fencing", it a fitting description. I think the snark between those two is funny imo.

Literaly! Between a knight enchanter and a Tempest.... lots of explosive potential! (no that is not a typo. I didn't capitalize Viv's spec out of contempt. So there! *thumbs nose*)

Still think you should go for Sera first, it's brand new for us. Plus she's a companion, a wild, fun, cheeky, vulgar, criminal gang leader, pocket full of destruction lil elf. #WINNING

Oh dear... I just reminded myself of the massive crush I had on Sarah Blackwood of Dubstar in the 90s...
Oh and Louise Wener of Sleeper...
*ahem*
So anyway, yeah... I'd equate Sera and Viv more with Anders and Fenris in terms of diametrically opposed political views clashing. It'll be interesting to see how/if their dynamic develops as the game goes on...

...I'm not really sure it's precisely political views they clash over. I don't think we know Sera's opinions about the mage circles yet.
