Warden is voiceless, can be one of many characters and can be alive or dead. This means that (s)he is really tough for them to import into DAI in a way that will please fans.

If I need someone to raise an army I'll call the warden, if I need someone to enable a terrorist to blow up a Chantry, I'll give Hawke a buzz.

I'm importing first cousland/Alistair Queen and King....and Warrior Hawke/bela (Noble)..then later , I will import my main wich is Amelle Mage/Leliana + Hawke Blood Mage/sarcastic + Bela for fun ! That outta be fun like hell . 

 

Although if my 2nd playtrough is really an elf..hum..I did make a world state with a crazy city elf . Well I say crazy...it just that I took options in the keep I wouldnt have been able to do in the game (like siding with the dalish against the werewolf)....so maybe I use that one for my elf .

Bethany was never cold to me. She seemed to get on well with a Sarcastic!Hawke. I got that letter when I made her a Warden but I understood. Still debating on whether or not making her a Warden was a selfish choice...I think that's how she views it at first.

will name a bow for Sera called "Stuck Up". Tee hee.

Well as I understand it , she doesnt like the warden route because she wanted the 'Normal life' just be that commoner without any power or destiny . So being a warden kinda kill any chances to be normal as soon as you join . And I understand that....

 

Carver is the opposite...he like being a warden , it make me him happy .

I think all of the DA2 companions, with the exception of Aveline and maybe Varric, were slightly... I believe the term you like to use is "cray". Anders was the most batshit but I don't think Fenris or Merrill were much better. Sebastian was a religious nutjob and Isabela, though she was awesome, was not the most stable/trustworthy...

to be fair Crim Hawke can refuse to help Anders look for the things he needs for the bomb and he still blows it up

true but thanks to hawke you changed them, even isabela came back to fix her mistakes but anders used u no matter what

Hawke is a walking disaster of mishaps, srsly it's one mess after another, and like really Anders was an extremist you could see it clear as day the more you hung around him. It was never gonna end well, something had to give, bloody annoying that we had to be associated with individuals like that but eh part of the story. Can't be avoided.
