There's one more trailer coming out, maybe it will feature an Inquisitrix hopefully.

It won't, all the pics we saw from this trailer had the dude.

I see, i shouldn't be surprised. Was hoping they'd flip the script this time.

Even though BW has a huge loyal female fanbase we're still alienated in promotional materials. EA marketing department strongly believes boys and men are their main target :(

Male protagonists are everyday bread these days.

US Marines form a big chunk of the protagonists.

Generic US Marine DudeBro.

Just because being a male Hawke.

It also comes down to budget. You mustn't forget that cost comes into making cinematic trailers and I'm not talking small change. BioWare know they have a fan base which equals, if not dwarfs, the straight male gamers. They just can't get two trailers out all of the time. Mass Effect was a little different because it was the END to a trilogy, loved by hundreds of thousands of people. With DA:I, it's not the end to a trilogy, It's just another game in a series. -

- Now EA come into this with there stereotypical marketing strategy.

Well, at least now there is some backslash. and that alone shows that times are changing.  Remember the assassin creed episode?("Female characters take too much work to create"). The backlash of that was quite big. A few years ago people would have been like: "no1currs! female gamers are in the extreme minority", "there is no such thing as a girl gamer!", "girl gamers? as if! what's next? women doctors? women teachers? women mothers?"

Well that still doesn't explain why they can't show both male and female protagonists in trailers. That way everyone would be happy.

And I still remember that long time ago (on old BSN I think) one of devs claimed that Jade Empire sold poorly cause they put a female on a box cover. He was oblivious that the game was just not good.

Or they could just do another trailer with the female, just like ME3 did. If they get bothered by doing 34545645 trailers with the same generic dude, then i don't see what's stopping them for doing just one with a female.

Yeah, things are slowly changing. Fingers crossed that in 5 - 10 years no one will wonder that we girl gamers exist.

And I hope we'll finally get an AAA Assassin Creed game with a female protagonist.

By the way - Urban Dictionary definition of backslash is a bit surprising :P

I think that Bioware as a group of creative individuals is dedicated to providing as much diversity of representation as they can. The problem is that they are owned by a corporate behemoth whose marketing pencil-pushers have decided that they'll get the best return from their investment by focusing their marketing on the straight males. I'm a straight male, and I think that it sucks, but sadly I seem to be in the minority. We just have to keep making our voices heard, and hopefully in the end they'll listen.

I think an AC set in Asia with that chick who invented the rope dart from AC3 could be cool.

I would almost prefer that we get a triple-A Ass Creed game with non-garbage history.

Almost.

They have something kinda similar coming out, Assassins Creed Chronicle China

edit: it features a female assassin, Shao Jun. It's a sidescroller though

Yeah, I know there was a AC game on PSP Vita - but I heard it wasn't AAA title? I would like a proper AC game for PC/PS4/XBONE with an interesting female protagonist.

I love Urban Dictionary - it cracks me up everytime!

I also liked.

Jade Empire Special Edition was horrible. It's the only Bioware role playing game (except Neverwinter Nights) I didn't finish.

Yes, straight men should help too and voice the issue. I know some men in the Inquisitrix thread who are pretty vocal and they want to help btw but sadly from what i see some don't even care (which is sad).

And I know it's not Bioware's problem, im not talking about them but about these people who think the marketing is only for straight men and market the stuff that way. In a game like Dragon age or Mass Effect, it just does not make sense to promote one gender where in fact there are 2 gender options.
