Well, The fact that Liara was helping him doesn't mean he has to love The asari, or their approachs.
His joke was terrible and very stupid, but The asari (as Liara's Mother said), preferred to focus on art instead of strenghtening themselves. The asari was supposed to be The leading specie, which at The end I don't think They were. The Reapers were smart enough in hitting first The most powerful species in military. The asari weren't considered as dangerous.
Granted, I don't think They deserved What happened. I felt terrible for Thessia.

If you're talking about Atheyta, she's Liara's dad. not mom.

The asari got the worst writing treatment, that's for sure. Everyone was saying how asari were great fighters, even the turians did, but got fudged over because of poor writing. We never got to see their skills, apart from some couple dancers.

If most asari were writen like Samara or Aria then that would be awesome. But alas, poor writing.

If we were on earth, she'd be considered the mother. Regardless of who gave birth.

Okay I have to say, that didn't feel like a Renegade at all... At least to me. It felt more like a paragon move.

Break the blade and stab.

Renegade should have been, break the blade, then use said blade to slowly open up a hole in his stomach and watch him bleed out slowly, possibly leaving a medkit just out of reach.

Yes I'm mean that way.

Once I was in Paris with my wife's (Mexican) parents. I had to translate from French to Spanish and back in restaurants and the like. I speak both fluently but trying to think in both at the same time? It hurt my brain!

You could say that to everything . I felt the same way , some renegades answers felt like a paragon answer and vice versa .

True, though I recall that since ME it was stated The Turians had The stronger military, and The asari focused on diplomacy, and that they're weren't good in a direct war.
There's a reason why in The two major galactic wars (Against rachni and krogan), asari and salarians needed frontfighers.

Yea, the thing is those are at least somewhat similar, whereas French and Japanese are no where near the same... @-@ it really messes with your head when you know words and phrases from more than 5 languages...

I know. And While I think those are important qualities, i think They should've focused more on military, even if only for defence.

Salarians weren't likely considered a big threat. Which They aren't, for The The type of war In ME3. Out of The four Council leading races they're The weakest.

Yeah I can imagine! Although sometimes that similarity can be a hindrance as you struggle to decide which word is from which language! :D

Yes, the asari also were good in assassination and guerrilla warfare. But we never got to see this, did we. Turians also said asari were great fighters.

Overall ME3 had horrible writing.

Edit: though I do remember something when you hover over a planet next to thessia that it says the asari gave a hard time to reapers, and they went to invade Thessia instead.
