I'm kinda hoping Sera is interested in a relationship and not like Isabela where it's just about sex. I know it's been said Sera isn't Isabela 2.0, but I'm still slightly worried, I guess.

on another note, I'd like it if we had one sweet moment with Sera. Just one...you know Quizzy is alone in her room...not staring at the wall...and she storms in and doesn't say anything just puts her head in Quizzy's lap. Quizzy is caught off guard because it's a first time for THIS happening but places a hand in her hair, stroking lovingly...and they stay like that. not saying anything.

I can handle the sweet stuff just...not all the time.

mad pages ago but I never felt like Liara's romance was flat. I thought her character development fit in line with the type of person she was supposed to be. With the exception of the death of Benezia, one could argue that most everything, including LotSB, was because of her loyalty to Shepard. I think that...was the thing that cemented her for me. Out of all of the companions...she was the only one that went to look for Shepard's body on her own. She felt she deserved a proper burial (and she did) and I know some of it was for selfish reasons, which she admits.

ME1, she's a socially awkward scientist. I thought that was written well. ME2, especially if Shepard romanced her, she is not okay. And she shouldn't be...Shepard died. Can you imagine how that would change a person? Your first introduction to love and then it's suddenly (and violently) taken away from you. I'm just amazed she had a full time job honestly. I imagine that first year was hard (I perused the comics but not in depth). But she did change...and if she didnt, I would side eye the writers. I mean...she'd just lost her mother. Like...I don't know how this part of her character arc can be ignored.

ME3...she came into her own. She had an identity outside of Shepard and I think that was very important too...it helped her find herself. No one pushed her into the role of SB...she wanted it. I could feel her maturity.

not typing this to change anyone's mind or anything. I do feel like calling her character arc flat is a disservice though. Because I know tragedy IRL...and to me it was portrayed as accurately as possible within that setting.

 

Not sure if this is directed at me or Eirene or both, but to clarify, I said she fell flat for me, not that she was flat. Perhaps a poor wording choice because I didn't mean to imply there wasn't a compelling arc behind her, just that it wasn't compelling to me. Which is fine. Not every character can be for every person. 

 

As for her character arc, I think her emotional arc/relationship with(and independent of) Shepard was one of the better parts, for the reasons you outlined. I don't' have any issues with her maturity or her response to trauma, just confusion about why they choose to go the way they did on some elements of her narrative. (Like I'm never quite sure why the Shadow Broker stuff even happened. She's sort of like Cullen (I'M SORRY GUYS KEEP WITH ME HERE I MEAN THIS ONLY IN A NARRATIVE ELEMENT WAY) in that I have difficulties piecing together how her arc works. 

 

I do think Liara is great and gets some pretty awful, undeserved hate. I'm not exactly sure why I don't connect to her (I have theories but this isnt the place ), but I am glad so many people do.

that's catering to a demographic. What I mean is to get the word out this "hey guys check out this awesome game we got" even if it sucks

It's a step in the right direction. You should've seen the males whining on youtube how they were always playing as female. As a guy myself, thought it was kinda pathetic lol

Yeah...that portion of the fanbase, along with the ones that constantly say "Dragon Age: Social Justice Warriors" just annoy the hell out of me. I don't know why I look at youtube comments anymore or why I bother with article comments, it's just more of the same thing, they're a flood of negativity lol
