Are you dying because you didn't think it had a chance of being released, or because its so long? I started reading those books like 15 years ago, so either one seems plausible, and on any given day I feel either one.

He's committed to finishing it fast though..he's even not writing an ep this season so he has book writing time....which I hope he does, because the showrunners know how it ends and I don't watch the show, but I still would hear what happens and I don't want second hand info from a show I don't really like to spoil my lifelong series, haha.

Speaking of ASOIAF I must get back to finishing up a DWD part 2. And speaking of books, I finally got TME in the post today, on the 4th chapter currently. Enjoying it alot so far, ugh Orlais is awful.

I need to do the same thing... it just became filler for me though, with characters I don't care about.

And what's TME?

Oh man, I loved TME. Briala.

Like I know how it ends for those two :/

but I am enjoying the politics of Orlais thus far, and the struggle for dominance between Gaspard and Celene. Also those court fops *grits teeth*

edit: @Lightning TME= The Masked Empire.

Ohhhh! The Masked Empire?

*shakes head in embarrassment*

I got that yesterday, only a couple of pages in though.

OMG that's...amazing.

And yeah, Crim....I have lots of...thoughts about that, but I did just genuinely love Briala and I hope she appears in DA:I and that I can be BFF and side with her and kiss her precious face and...

...I'll stop

It is a god awful fugly mess agreed. Hmm me thinks if I decide to make a lone male, (like I attempt to in these games but lol Crim fails to finish) he will be clean shaven or just give him a lil stubble. Beards work best on dwarves I feel, maybe humans too.

I plan on making at least one guy playthrough and I won't be giving him a beard either. He'll probably have some stubble, maybe a moustache but not a full blown beard.

OH boy do I feel this, as a veteran of defending female characters on westeros.org. Always a losing cause, but I kept my sword clean and battle ready anyway. It's been many years, but I still have knee jerk reactions when someone says anything even slightly negative about Sansa or Catelyn or whoever. Shudder.

See, that's you. I think that Cat - despite her other qualities, positive and otherwise - is an idiot who is more directly responsible than anyone else for the colossal political nuclear sh*t bomb that went off in the first book of the series. But it's no big deal: Martin isn't good enough at history to know what smart political maneuvers are like. Even the much-heralded Tywin, Littlefinger, and Varys are a lot closer to Cat than they are to, say, a genius like Köprülü Mehmed Paşa or a competent practitioner like Yuan Shikai.

Fictional authors usually can't do the research in any particular depth, which is fine; otherwise they'd be, y'know, historians. But it means that whenever they try to get complex with certain subject matter, it ends up being worse than if they'd kept it vague.

Hopefully not all the beards look that off. I don't wanna make all my eventual male Quizzies clean-shaven.

I long for the day when DA is as good a game for the beard enthusiast as Skyrim was... :S

Always struggle when playing as men in these games, such a disconnect. So what race/class/romance are you looking into?

It looks like you have to get the facial structure to fit the beard

There's probably a good amount of beard options I would think. The Storm Coast stream had a dwarvenquisitor with a pretty epic beard imo.

Hmm...so before, it annoyingly messed up whatever facial structure you had whenever you slapped a beard on, and now you have to fill it out yourself or else it'll probably look weird. Not sure if that's better or worse.

Might just be that Qunari doesn't roll the beard very well, I guess. :S

Man, we need to get back to the SPEW/Qunari wars. Those were fun. I, of course, have my own preferences...

INSINCERE ENDORSEMENT: You have not experienced Sera until you have sexed her in the body of elcor.

*Krogan voice* Ugh elves are so squishy, where are you supposed to get a decent grip?

I can think of a few places.

It's been weird for me to play as a guy before too but lately I'm getting a bit more okay with it, and I like the male VA's this time so I think It'll be interesting at least. My dudequisitor will be human, archer, romance Dorian. Going to base him on Garrett from Thief:

Spoiler

If you end up rolling a guy what class/race/romance are you thinking about?

Cool. You have this planned out better than me tho, you shame me. :P

Hmm originally I was gonna attempt to romance Cass buuuuuuuuuuuut m/f romances, ugh hetero is powerful, I struggle with em. So I think I'm gonna create a bloke so he can twirl the stache. Kinda feel I'll have more fun with another gay romance tbh. As for class, not sure but race I'll probably go for human.

Not into playing as dudes but as long as one of the VAs appeal, i do think I'll roll a Qunari dude and romance Dorian. :) first time I've ever been excited to play as a guy, tbh. No idea on class.

I really wasn't interested in rolling a dude for Cass but then I started thinking about Cass/Cadash and that could be cute, idk. Tiny warrior Cadash and his big girlfriend warrior. Depends on how many times I wanna replay this game, because that's far down on the list.

I'm out of likes, but about the George RR Martin reading part of the thread, for those of you who like Sci-Fi  and need something to help hold you over till Sera arrives, his graphic novel Doorways is very good. It's an adaption of a screenplay he wrote in the 90's for ABC. Amazon has it for Kindle.

Hey, there's gotta be at least one gaming benefit down here, right?
I mean, it sure as hell isn't the ping.
