Dorian was saying "You move and we all die." probably because it would mess up the spell or something.
It seems a bit early in the game to be killing Companions; you get a "Codex Entry: Mage" after killing Alexius; but I don't see any reason why the Venatori would spare Sera.

It seems weird that this was her possible death scene, since IB was there as well. I don't think they'd kill two companions together.
Plus, as i see it, that final scene is before everything show yesterday: Leliana's badassery and her capture. Don't know if they'll do the same to the knocked (?) companions.

It was an intimidation tactic. They just couldn't throw the Bull in because...they literally couldn't move him.

Pretty much, throwing a elf is not really that hard compared to throwing a giant ox man who is the size of two humans.

They seem to be very interested in Leliana. Maybe they ambush the two party members you bring with you besides Dorian who seems crucial to this scene and hope to use them as leverage?

The Iron Bull said "We'll head out front. keep them off your tail" which probably they were either trying to lead the Venatori away from the Inquisitor and failed or that they would hold them off while Dorian completed the spell and were eventually overrun. Leliana remained inside because she is essential to this part and could appear in a cutscene.

Usually, this would seem like a suicide mission but I'm having an hard time believing they'd just kill two companions like this.

Yeaaahhhh Heroes of Cosplay mang! I've been waiting to see that episode with the Dragon Age Inquisition cosplays. Looks like tonight will be the night. Still wondering who cosplayed Sera in that video though. (I almost want to say Chloe, but I only jump to that conclusion because she has been doing group cosplays with Holly and Jessica this season.)

I was at Sakura-Con in April and there was a guy cosplaying the Inquisitor.

Just one representative in DA2.  When you get rid of the gangs in Acts 1-3, you turn them into her.  She's in the back of the Hanged Man, upstairs.
