I prefer to play a clever/sneaky character, rather than someone who hits things hard, but to each their own. I'll see what handling Cass, Bull and Blackwall is like and maybe roll a warrior in a later playthrough, but I'm pretty sure that my first two will be as a mage and DW Rogue. Not sure of the order.

But agreed on the sneaky characters. There's something so satisfying about sneak attacks... provided I'm not on the receiving end. Then they suck.

Yup. Made in .357SIG, .40S&W and 9mm Luger.
The only variant with a suppressor mount I found on the official SIG Sauer site is a 9mm though :-(

Oh my natural class is rogue. I just think there's promise for warriors being more interesting this time. I tend to feel BioWare writes their protags as warriors anyway, so it'd be nice if playing one for story reasons felt good.

Anyway, I'm calling a SIG Sauer P226 before anyone takes it.

Because sidearms are a nice thing to have.

I never found guns particularly sexy or interesting. I much prefer playing as a biotic or engineer in ME, and non-lethal sneakery in Deus Ex. FPS's have bored me since... Probably Half life 2, really.

Doubt it, personally. DA:O didn't feel right as a rogue and a bit out of place as a Mage too, felt ''right'' as a Warrior, you know a Grey Warden rushing into hordes of darkspawn with sword and shield in hand.

 

DAII was obviously centered around being a mage as that made the conflict much more personal/relevant to you as a player.

 

DAI seems to fit right with a rogue character, the Inquisition being this somewhat sleazy/shadow organization that gains power over the course of the game to try and put everything right.

Except that you still are expected to lead this shadowy organisation into combat, and spearhead its military operations. Which is the point really, BioWare expects you to pretty much always charge into combat. DA2 makes sense as a mage story wise - and I like playing it that way - but you still act like a warrior.

 

It's not an absolute though, I have no problems playing other characters, I just feel warriors work by default.

True, but combat isn't defined by sheer force or strength only. With the presence of diplomacy and espionage aswell, I imagine Inquisition will be more elaborate to some extent.

Haha fair enough, but most pre-release trailers had a sword and board Warden.

DA is a party-based game. As long as you have muscle in your party, why does it need to be you? I don't buy that you need to be a warrior for it to make sense. Not at all. Brains behind the brawn, that's me.

It was rather boring in general. Definitely the worst bit about playing as a rogue, but I also don't like huge heavy plate much, so...

 

Edit: Oh and also mage costumes were pretty awful, too. especially the hats!
