Wait, DA:O on console does not have a tactical view, only the PC version got it (sadly). Inquisition does have the tactical camera for consoles too, though, which is good.

There's no tactical view for DA:O on the console?? Wow, I had no idea. PC user here, and the tactical + tactics was my favorite part of DA:O. Looks like the tactics have been reduced (which I'm ok with it) even though tac cam is back, which is strange. I'll see how the gameplay goes though....I mean, I really really appreciate fun gameplay, but for me with Bioware, replayability has more to do with narrative branching/roleplaying than combat, so, it's not a huge deal.

Whelp, no tactical mode on consoles for both DA:O and DA2, I own both the xbox360 and the PC version of those and the console ones do not have it.
Well DA2 didnt have tactical view at all, right? So I'm glad it's coming back, and for all of us this time. 
...ngl though, It especially looks great for getting all kinds of ridiculous screenshots. I mean, also gameplay but. Screenies! With silly, contorted faced and bodies in weird places!

I was never one for planning out battle strategy in these games myself, I just rush in and hack all the things. Served me well thus far. 
I like being able to do battle strategy sometimes, but I also liked being able to turn the difficulty down and killing everything quickly with MageHawke's AOE spells, lmfao.
ME3's Narrative Mode was the best for this. It always felt very satisfying to punch a Brute to death with one swing.
I figured it didn't. hopefully this won't stop me from being a boss in DAI.
Had the tactics screen on lock doe. Had to make sure Leli wasn't on that Archery when she's dual-wielding. I mean she is such a boss with that dagger/longsword! i'll type it again: cut. Marjolaine's. head. OFF.

I like both approaches, which one I choose depends on whether I want to utterly annihilate my enemies while keeping my party in good shape or if I just want to do some mindless skull bashing while downing potions and heals.

From what I could see, the tactical view in DA:I is excellent, you shouldn't have any problems with it. It even has a "fast forward" option to see how the action you chose will unwind.
Cutting Marjolaine head off is one of the most satisfying finishers ever, alongside the Arl Howe one.

She killed him by the Inquisitor's orders. You could leave him go or kill him. Not sure what the context is tho, but she is a bard afterall, she's gotten her hands dirty plenty.

Not sure. Annnnnnd I lean on the renegade side myself, all depends on the circumstances of course but it wouldn't surprise me if I ordered that killing myself in game.
