The s*** that has gone on in this thread will keep you giggling for a while. We (I say 'we' when actually, I wasn't here until afterwards) had a fake wedding which, looking back, was adorable and slightly insane.

 

Edit: No. No, it wasn't a fake wedding. Love blossomed in this thread. The ceremony was completely legal and binding.

So one of the reasons I've been hesitant to play a Qunari is I've never liked their society. They're pretty much fascists. But I guess since the Qunari Inquisitor is a Vashoth they can ignore that stuff. It will be interesting if you encounter some Qunari in the game. They try to capture Vashoth and "reeducate" them. I guess Sera will have fun using them for target practice if they try to take me. LOL

Yeah...I'm with ya there . I mean sure the Arishok was impressive made....although...*snicker* everytime he get up from that tiny chair of his..I expect it to stick to his butt

I actually prefer the ideology of the Qunari. Working together to achieve a common goal. If one part falls, the whole system falls so they all work together to keep the train moving. They might be considered heretics but they are trying to bring order to people. The Qun gives you a roll, if you don't like that roll, you leave the Qun but if you can find happiness within that roll, you will be better for it.

 

Of course, it all sounds like communism which I am against I worked hard to get where I am so why should the people working in rubbish collection get the same benefits as me.

Muh...I do admit that the Qun does give a purpose to a being . But the price for that purpose is to give away your individuality . And I don't think it is a fair trade . 

 

A good exemple if I recall proprely , is the Protheans . They converted all others specie to become 'protheans' and when the reapers showed up , Javik tell ya : they couldn't adapt or change....their lost individuality cost them everything . And the Surviving protheans and those in charge , decided to use the tactic of sacrifiying the many....to defeat the ennemie . Which in the end , got them nowhere and they end up going in bunker and wait for the reapers to leave..so they could start their new Empire . Which never happen...due to lack of Energizer batteries ! 

 

A system like the Qun will only work when everyone is converted , none challenge it...and they keep an iron fist on everyone and keep preaching . Which is not living.....in my opinion .

Giving up love and sex for pleasure is a small price for social security and stability but that just might be me.

 

But I also doubt Sera would be willing to give it up, so not a good pick for my future qunari inquisitor

No, the Qunari Inquisitor was never raised in the Qun, so I guess they are a Vashoth from birth (wonder how that happened). Meaning they don't have any of the crazy ideology that other Qunari do. So I think they could fall in love and romance Sera just like any other non-Qunari could.

Actually, Qunari do fall in love, they just don't have sex as a way of expressing that love. These things are completely seperate to them.

As a choice, the Qun is fine and dandy. The Qun, however, abhors choice. You either convert or you are magically lobotomized in to an obedient zombie a la tranquil. Those who try to leave are hunted and killed if caught. Kill.It.With.FIRE 

 

But like i said, fine and dandy as a personal choice and i don't think any less of people who like it     So long as its not the forced conversion bit they like....
