Thanks for the feedback, guys! @Uncle: I'm not going to change that phrase you pointed out. ;) I like it. :D

I wonder if anyone will get the reference to a very old adventure game in there...

I bet I know what it is, but I don't get the reference...

*Googles*

Yes I was right. Won't say in case anyone actually knows it. That is actually quite old, indeed. I'd only been gaming for six or seven years when it came out. ;)

Take your time. I would hate for my fic to spoil your enjoyment of the game in any way. I still need to write chapter five anyway (coming this weekend). The game will be so close by then, no sense in breaking your rule. :)

I am sure it wouldn't and that I am being silly, but...hrmm...you're right. We are close. I will wait. Or try to hold off a little longer, But I do look forward to it!  :)

It was one of my first games! I loved it so much! I still play it on dos box from time to time. Memory lane is lovely in the winter. :D

Oh that's like me and Laser Squad... It's a forerunner of the original X-Com games (not the new remake) and is basically the tactical combat from those games without all the technology developing and base building. I played that game sooo much on my own and against friends as a kid. I can still happily go back to it now...

That's the thing with old games: if you grew up with them, you can go back without a problem and barely notice the flaws. If they are new, it's really hard to get sucked into them.

Although I was never able to go back to Oblivion after Skyrim. The difference in the leveling system is just too much of a deal breaker. Oblivion's leveling system was a pain.

I really can't wait to meet her now. At this point I'm about ready to go 'Sorry, Josie. I got me a Wildcard to slam on the table'. :D

So we know we meet her on the streets of Val Royeaux(sp?) and that we need only 4 power to go there.

Who's going to go there as soon as they can to pick her up, then run around the Hinterlands with her in the party?

Mmh. Didn't the Devs say that companion recruitment would be tied to quests? I'm guessing there's more to meeting our companions than just stumbling across them. Maybe we'll get a mysterious message saying to meet 'someone' at 'some place' and boom! There's Sera!

I shall be attempting to recruit Sera at the earliest opportunity. Also Vivienne as they are both in Orlais and because catty banter. Oddly the tiny bit we saw of Blackwall in the Storm Coast streams raised him from uninteresting to intriguing to me, so maybe I'll look for him too. The rest I'm happy to find when I find...

If I decide to the EA Access thinger I will have to then decide whether I want to do a bee-line for Val R and get Sera as something of a teaser or wait for the full game release on PC and save her for the main game.

I could consider it a Sera-nabbing practice run. *nods*

Agreed, and since I'll be playing as a Qunari first run, it'll be interesting meeting Bull for the first time, since he was Ben Hassrath for a long time, and is still working for them.

I think its was Mike or Cameron that said in one of the streams that some companions are tied to the main story while the others you can recruit at any time though I do agree with the theory that you recruit all companions before you even get Skyhold since Haven is the HQ of the Inquisition before you get Skyhold.

Ok the female dwarf inquisitor video is back. They cut out the Val Royeaux part.

Gonna run and grab Viv & Sera and probably continue my time honored tradition of meaning to diversify, but ending up preferring a 2 Mages/2 Rogues party (Solas would be the other one.)

How does that EA Access work exactly?  I thought it would be like a demo where you're limited to just the first area or something.

In DA2 my party was all female  - Aveline, Isabela, Merril and Hawkette. This time around I'm thinking about doing the same with Cassandra, Sera, Vivienne and female dward inquisitor.

What are your plans party wise?

You will have 6 hours long access to everything - both the story and multiplayer. Your progress will carry over to the game when it officially launches.

It is a 6 hour limit.  There might be a limit in terms of how far you can go or which areas you can access, though... So Sera may be blocked.

If that be the case then I'd probably just spend six hours in the CC.

I wanted to do all ladies, but I couldn't stand Isa + Aveline's dialogue.

I alternated between a few parties: Isa + Fenris + Anders/ Isa + Merrill + Varric, were probably the most used.

In DA:O, I did Wynne + Morrigan + Leli :DD

But this game? I want them all. I can't even imagine having a standard party besides "Sera will be there." I will def do the all ladies team a lot though.

...then again, before DA2 I would have said "pfft, only ladies." and then I ended up having all kinds of issues with Aveline and also found the hilarious dramatic  delight that was Fenris + Anders. So who knows. I do rarely pick for gameplay reasons though, it's all about having fun with the people I like the most (or the ones that make me giggle the most).

I'm either doing an all-female party or swapping out Viv or Cassandra for Dorian.  Will wait and see if any of them don't mesh with my Inquisitor.
