Really? Isabela and Aveline are the best together - when the game starts they hate each other and when it ends they're besties. It's a wonderful journey. And Isabela treats Merril like a baby sister which is adorable.

 

 

In DA:O, I did Wynne + Morrigan + Leli :DD 
 

 

Since I played rogue in DA:O - I have never done it. I usually went with Leli (cause when I romance someone I always have that person in my party.) Alistair, and either Wynne or Morrigan (when I finally gave her spirit healer spec).

Scout Harding, the dwarf woman who leads the Inquisition's scouts. She appears to be the character who briefs you on each area, also a rather good shot with a bow.

Yeah I get why it appeals to people, I could never sit through the hate dialogues to get to the love because it always made me hate Aveline---and I like her a lot. Isabela always gets priority in my parties, so she and Merrill were my main ladies.

I really wish the Aveline-Isabela dynamic had worked for me, but it just made me uncomfortable for a variety of reasons. Shrug.

I didn't like her much either though she is a good friend to Hawke and has one of the more funnier companion quests when you get her and Donnic together

Personally, I just don't like Aveline.

Eh I feel like the game encourages us to think they are equals slinging dirt at each other, when in reality Aveline's is in a position of authority...and she instigates the antagonism too....Isa tries to be friendly, its Aveline who decides that they can't have anything in common. and the fact that so much of it revolves around ****-shaming Isa (which Aveline is not the only offender of this) when she's got a past of sexual abuse. I mean, Aveline is vulnerable to Isa's insults because of her perceived lack of femininity? But I think there's just too many real life parallels I'm drawing from there (Thedas doesn't have colorism but there's some unfortunate real world associations there, for example) and it's not just their dialogues, but a culmination of a lot of things the game does with Isa. I'm not really interested on arguing it, because it's my personal reaction informed by my experiences. I know it gets to a satisfying place, but I just can't deal with the beginning. I want women who support eachother...or the very least, don't tear eachother down in gendered ways. Its realistic, sure, but I hate it. Hope that makes sense.

Edit; not that I think you are going to argue with me, just throwing it out there that I'm not accusing anyone of anything, its more personal than anything about the writing, probably.

Cos I'm a derp who forget her PSN password I couldn't sign back in with my old profile, sooooooo I had to change to a new one for my PS4. For those here who want to stalk me on PS4 add me plox, same name as BSN. Now I have to contact pals on my old account, tell em the same.

How does that EA Access work exactly?  I thought it would be like a demo where you're limited to just the first area or something.

It's a demo but it's more than just one area. The difference is you're limited to 6 hours of playtime per account.

 

Also includes access to MP.

...I feel like Isabela gets too much of a pass for her behavior towards Aveline. I don't think she was trying to be friendly...it seemed much more like she was trying to get a reaction from Aveline. Isabela begins the feud by insinuating that Aveline is too masculine and therefore scares men away.

Its possible, although I honestly haven't found much in the way of Isa getting a pass tho, the majority of people are content to tear her apart in my experience, which has certainly added to my defensiveness of her. She does say some gross things, which is another reason I don't like them together. It's not just Aveline who looks bad, it's both of them.

But yeah, it's not a convo I'm terribly interested in delving into, so I apologize for posting something like that without wanting to follow up in detail.
