I think that's the key statement. The film is open to interpretation and endless argument.

 

Anything is open to endless argument if you want to be defeatist about it. I've made my argument for my interpretation, and I'm open to that argument being flawed but I believe that film is far too deliberate for there not to be a specific point.

Really? From what I know of her, which is limited to reading the wikia about the books.... I really dont mind her. I do however find Gaspard to be a complete dick. but that's just personal opinion, based solely on reading a wikia page, and not the actual books. Oh and the brief mentions in the games.

I think some people don't like Celene because of the way she didn't tell Briala that the death of her parents was part of her initial grab for power, and also the brutal way in which she put down the elvish rebellion in Halamshiral, even if her hand was slightly forced there.

 

She's a less brutal player of the game than some, but she's still a player of the game. I'm sure Sera hates her.

I don't remember Celene saying that, and I can't see why she would say that. Despite what she's done to Briala, she (in a twisted way) respected and loved her.

and all i can say is that seem peoples forget one thing : being in love with soemone doesnt mean you automaticly embrace their cause/love their peoples . Y'know kinda like with Anders , someone may love him...want to help his cause but doesnt mean they agree with what he did and would break it off due to that . In the case of Briala , unless Celene made concrete promise she would change the fate of the elf to briala....I dont see why would anyone assume she made a pledge . And this (unless Im mistaken) aint u normal relationship , but one has to choose the throne and one lover. Just my though
