Noob question from a noob: would Sera befriend or romance an unrepentant scoundrel?

I struggle playing altruistic types and being a lying, theiving Rogue is more my thing but I'd like to keep her onside. My Rogue bias demands it.

I reckon that would be more her type. Mostly they say she's for the commoners over nobility, so if you're playing a Robin Hood kind of scoundrel where you limit your foul deeds to the rich and help the little guys out you earn her favour.

Crikey. A quiet night indeed. I'm interested in those who are naming a specific group of three companions to take on a playthrough and have two questions:

1. How set in stone is this party in your mind? Do you really feel able to choose with certainty based only on what we know now?

2. Have you not seen how gob-smackingly massive this game is? Do you really plan on taking the same three with you for an entire playthrough? Don't you think think that you might want some variation?

I'm truly interested to know...

It's really good! Well I could've done without the QTEs, but beyond that I really enjoyed it.

I am NOT a hardcore gamer. LOL I hate dying over and over. I like a tiny challenge but if I can play a game and never die once I'm perfectly happy. I don't think I ever died in DA: O, maybe a few times in DA2. I don't think I died in the Mass Effect games. So yeah, Dark Souls/Demons Souls are not my thing at all.

Lara does tend to die horrible deaths quite often in certain sections of Tomb Raider. I hope that doesn't put you off but I felt that I should warn you...

Well I mean it depends on the type of game I guess. I love the Batman Arkham games I died in them a lot, but usually from missed QTEs or miss judging a jump. That kind of thing. And those don't bother me because they're fast and the game takes you right back where you were. And the challenge for most of the game is just right. The boss fights are tense, but I usually made it through. Same with the rooms full of goons. I think Tomb Raider should be fine. It's the punishing abuse of really hard games I don't like.

I'm home! I was playing the Last Court but blegh, waiting. So I'm just drinking some wine and staring at the Keep, waiting to play more.

Still debating about what class to roll first. Man...choices. I want to keep Sera around...like a lot. If I play as a qunari first, that's feasible....but I guess I can work a 2 rogue/mage/warrior something other group.

(I was gonna try romancing Alistair this playthrough...but I saw this sister/brother dynamic that I can't unsee.)

I don't have a plan yet except that I love badass ladies (especially Sera). I fully expect that my party will change a bit after I get to know people. I'm very interested to see how Leliana and Varric are doing after all this time without them. 

 

And to your second point, I don't know how big it is. Is there info about how long it will take to beat or how big the world map is? I love sprawling games. Maybe they're trying to make it up to us for all the reused locations in DA2. LOL

It's a really good game, and most of it is exploring, puzzle solving and standard game combat but there are times when you have to get her out of various life threatening situations, and if you fail she can die quite horribly. Obviously you just reload and try again but there are some quite gruesome death animations. Only fair to warn people if that might put them off!

My psycho little brother loved Lara Croft.....I do remember just one lol an old Lara croft . While I do not mind the jumping and stuff (I did get trough Remember Me y'know and it was all Jumping and kicking like Karaté Kid)....the whole you must die due to cutscene...if thats what you mean...is a turn off for me . I have enough 'You must die cose gay' in movies...I don't want it in my game .

Uncle, I'm not one of the "set party people" but I assume people are talking about the parties they will take with them on plot quests or when discovering new areas. At some point I assume we will run out of banter for side quests/exploration for any given configuration and then people might decide to switch it up, or use a mount, or whatever. Or just never use the others cuz they have their set system at that point.

I do think there is value in taking one group everywhere, especially where there will be unique dialogue, because it allows you to see a whole arc of that configuration. That probably adds to replayability too. Start a new Quizzie with fresh companions and you get all new banter and comments everywhere you go.

Hum..no . You play a women...and there is no choice of dialogue or anything like that . No customization at all too...

In Remember Me , you play the role of Nilin in a futurist Paris fighting Errorist (I love this word lol) . Anyway , the game is gorgeous and the fighting (some claim it can get dull) . Me personally...I havent played this kind of game..since...well..forever . So it felt super new to me and it was fun and very addictive lol 

And Unlike Prince of persia (new and old)..the game is easy and show ya and help ya where u need to jump . So mostly..you wont fall ever from missing a jump . Mostly..u can die fighting....some are hard...

Spoilers. If you complete the game, Lara will not be dead. There is a sequel!

 

But well... Some sections of the game are QTEs where you have to do something specific to stop Lara from dying, and you need to reload until you get it right. It could be escaping from someone, or from a some other peril. There are also sequences where something is collapsing or on fire or something and Lara needs to escape to a place of safety, and you can end up dying very easily there too.
