She looks pretty stiff when she's thrown on the ground by the demon. Also, for all of you who say that it might not be her, at around 9:00 you can clearly see The Iron Bull and Sera walking in the room behind the door Leliana is guarding. If you still have doubts, analyze her attire and the one of the female elf that is thrown on the ground.
 
So, in the end, did they just killed her and maybe The Iron Bull in a 10 minutes demo   ?!

yeah that sequence was alarming! I'm sure there is more to it then that though. It could be we have situations where are squaddies have perma death? Or, shes just unconscious. I'm also thinking it being a dream sequence would make a lot of sense? I feel like they wouldn't show us a significant moment like 2 companions getting killed this early haha.

Don't see why all the fuss is about over Sera being gay. While I can understand that people are disappointed that she isn't available for male players to romance, I really need to ask, is the romance aspect really that much of a vital aspect to a character to you? Or are you more afraid of "missing out" on content?

The reason I ask this is b/c while I can fathom the appeal of wanting to romance someone you are interested in as a means to e.g. continue further on with the relationship, but from what I have gathered from the forum however when it comes to characters and concerning the topic of whether or not them being romancable at all and / or gender exclusive, the real frustration for many stems from people being left out or not getting enough "content" from said character.

Romances are additional content that lets you explore the character you are pursuing in a different manner and often adds to more dialog, events, and such. These types of content are usually only available if you romance them and if not, you don't get the chance to experience it. Here I can undertand the frustration if you, for example, have an X character you can to bowling with but only if you romance her. If not, you miss on having the chance to do so, and are left to just talking with her at the house.

Then again, people may want to romance a character simple for the sake of romance, which is totally understandable. But what I wanted to point out was--in this case with Sera--is that while it is a shame she isn't available for male players, I'm totally fine with her being female only as long as I don't miss out on anything really "vital". Though what I am really hoping for is the availabilty to pursue a proper friendship path with her. Instead of having the banter with her come to a hault when the game (potentialy) offers the option to romance her only to be denied, having the ability to still continue the friendship path is equally as important aspect as romance one. I'd like having the option to discuss certain things with close friends that I wouldn't otherwise talk with my romance partner, and having a different sort of relationship with other charactes that aren't romancable and which isn't exclusive to your romance partner, makes up for certain members not being available to you to romance, and which is something I hope is the case with Sera and the other party members.

I will say as a male gamer I am disappointed that Sera is a female only LI, and as of right now i'm not sure if I should feel guilty about being disappointed or not. Which is Ironic because I used to be of the opinion that LI's shouldn't all be bisexual in dragon age 2 as it seemed to make the concept of having one less meaningful. That is until one day when I read a forum post from a homosexual user where he or she ,(kinda hard to tell through the internet) explained how they had to constantly deal with rejection and awkwardness in real life and how refreshing it was to escape from that in bioware games. 

 

Even though I am straight, I was able to identify with the user and their post made me do a complete 180 on my opinion as I have also had a lot of awkwardness and rejection in my love life as well.

That being said. I am still buying Inquisition. This isn't the first time that i've been disappointed in not being able to romance a LI(I'm looking at you Aveline) and I'm sure it won't be the last, but Bioware game romances are generally a cut above many other games I've played so i have no qualms with giving them the benefit of the doubt in this area.

 

PS- I swear to god though if Vivienne comes out as Female only then everyone can go straight to hell.   (Just Kidding)

I was expecting her to be lesbian with the 2/2/2 system. Don't know if we'll get one or two companions romances other than her, but I'm glad the lesbian option isn't relegated to the advisors .
I wanted to romance her with my male character, but I'm perfectly fine with it. I was already planning a female character after my first one.

Not only is Sera the most interesting and attractive female character in the game so far, but it also means there will be no female elf romance for male elf players AGAIN! Elven and shemlin relationships are basically self-genocide for elves so hopefully they will change their minds in the following months.

I feel like you're coming at this from the wrong angle. I find it's never good to go into a bioware game with a preplanned romance option because it will never work out the way you want it too. I find it's better to create your character's personality and just talk to characters that you're interested in then decide which one you want to romance, if any.

I bet it's same deal as Shadow Broker. Knock the companion out through excessive force prior to the fight and then have them revived afterwards. No biggie.

 its speculated that all of that part in the video takes place in the fade, and when you die in the fade, you go back to reality (at least your companions did in da 2)

Some people want a gay dwarf option or a Qunari and maybe they won't get it, others want a gay elf option and maybe Solas is straight... it's difficult to satisfy everyone. You can have a homosexual elf couple with Sera and maybe you can have a hetero couple with Solas.
