Crikey. A quiet night indeed. I'm interested in those who are naming a specific group of three companions to take on a playthrough and have two questions:

1. How set in stone is this party in your mind? Do you really feel able to choose with certainty based only on what we know now?

2. Have you not seen how gob-smackingly massive this game is? Do you really plan on taking the same three with you for an entire playthrough? Don't you think think that you might want some variation?

I'm truly interested to know...

I like Rogues so I'll always have at least one other Rogue with me, either Sera, Varric or both depending on the terrain.
In hilly areas, they'll compliment each other nicely by raining death upon fools.

As for sticking with them, I will change my party just to hear different banters and take advantage of their skills.

And to your second point, I don't know how big it is. Is there info about how long it will take to beat or how big the world map is? I love sprawling games. Maybe they're trying to make it up to us for all the reused locations in DA2. LOL

It's by all accounts massive. Several tens of hours for a playthrough if you focus just on the main story, but if you explore, it's looking like hundreds of hours just for one game. They've said that more than one of the the areas you can explore are bigger than the entirety of all the maps in Origins.

Spoilers. If you complete the game, Lara will not be dead. There is a sequel!

 

But well... Some sections of the game are QTEs where you have to do something specific to stop Lara from dying, and you need to reload until you get it right. It could be escaping from someone, or from a some other peril. There are also sequences where something is collapsing or on fire or something and Lara needs to escape to a place of safety, and you can end up dying very easily there too.

Hum..that sound like a lot of stress . I don't like games that make me stress (Aka timed quest..I totaly have a melt down lol)...I think I pass Uncle lol 

I remember that kind of situation in Resident Evil..where you had to stop some Bomb..while you had Nemesis staring ya in the face...argh........so many deaths lol nope....not again..never again ! _{yes I'm a wuss I hate challenge !}

Those bits are far from being the majority of the game, but they are certainly there.

I am guessing, but the (slow) way I tend to play I'm expecting more like 2-400 hours for a playthrough myself...

And I also tried and raised all in Remember Me ! And OMG! SHE LOOK SO GORGEOUS (well she did before..but I could also feel the lag , especially during those mission of rewind)...well I was on Low...and no antiliasing..its going faster...my eyes hurt

1st time I raised resolution in DAO...I was in shock ! Wynn had wrinkles and Leliana had colored eyes....omg....

 

Ohhh damn..I wish I had Skyrim installed...that sweet candles lights....argghhhhhh.......I wish I had it now installed..and modded..I bet it would look sweeet sweet..

Well I mean it depends on the type of game I guess. I love the Batman Arkham games I died in them a lot, but usually from missed QTEs or miss judging a jump. That kind of thing. And those don't bother me because they're fast and the game takes you right back where you were. And the challenge for most of the game is just right. The boss fights are tense, but I usually made it through. Same with the rooms full of goons. I think Tomb Raider should be fine. It's the punishing abuse of really hard games I don't like. 

 

I would recommend both Tombe Raider (2013) and Remember Me. Both are fantastic games with awesome leading ladies. And Camilla Luddington is divine as Lara. I can't wait for Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Yeah it's timed and they actually came out and admitted that they only did it because they had nothing for the holiday period to compete with the new Nathan Drake game Sony has. LOL So if you play on PS3/PS4 you will still get it. Just a few months later.

I hope it's a timed one. I think it's ridiculous that Tomb Raider was on both platforms (was it on PC?) but the sequel isn't. That's just f***ed! I loved Tomb Raider.

Completely set, since the major factor is the potential banter.

And this is EXACTLY WHY I have a set party for the entire game, I don't want to miss the good banters, and if I switch around I won't remeber who I took on this spot where this particular character says something interesting. I have 9 Inquisitors with their set party, so I will be able to cover a significant part of the banters.

I love how Lara's character develops during the game. It actually mirrors Liara in ME a little as she goes from an inexperieced academic caught in a dangerous situation to total badass by the end.

The Tower of Mage will be the test..because that,s where...I crashed like 50 times every goddamn 10min of gameplay . With a Mage....wich drove me bonker lol 

P.S: anyone can help ? Do you guys..use those Tomes for yourself..all of them ? or give some to each companion ? And should I take abilities...up to the end ? y'know..like if I took winter snow abilitie..should I go all the way to Blizzard ? and should I take any healing abilitie...or wait till I get Wynn?
