i said it last night and i will say it again, this thread is making me laugh non stop.

yes i had planned on romancing sera in my initial play through, but now guess what?  i will still use her just to get to know the bioware character.  One of the things that made me fall in love with Dragon Age was how fun all the characters are/were.  Hell I still want Sketch to show up more so we can learn more about him.

Bioware has made wonderfully diverse characters, and just because i cannot "bed" them all? guess what that is real life as well.

to the people who are mad because they will not be able to romance her, 1. yes you will, eventually and 2. it is only a game!

it isn't like you in real life sit there and pick out a random person off of facebook or deviant art based off of ideas about who they are, then you see pictures, and plan a romance with them.

where would be the fun in planning all that out, instead of chaotically meeting some one and feeling a spark?

and yes this is coming from an asexual in the real world.  but bear with me.

 

bioware's characters at least in the few games i've played (dao, da2, swtor) are vast, fun and full of wonderful quirks that fleshes them out in fun ways.  makes them interesting.

in my play throughs of the first game i tended to romance Morrigan, because of her voice.  My female characters tended to romance Zevran because he reminds me of the me I used to be (perverted but funny).  In Da2 I went for Merrill, again because of the voice, and later Isabella because she made my characters laugh.

 

But in reality when I am looking for companionship I would look and Aveline, Leliana and Varric to hang out with.  These are characters I would not have wanted to "pursue" initially as romances or even friends but because of how they were written, they made things much more interesting.  it became more about who will I have in my party, who will I bed...and more about...who could actually be your friend in the end?

 

Hell I'd love to debate theology with Sten...from a distance (I'm an atheist).

 

So I guess what I am saying is this, so what Sera is female romance only, if she still has a good personality then it may be fun to explore that aspect of her.  Besides she isn't even real.

 

Okay I'm done with my say on this.

 

However before I go, Bioware please DO NOT release any more information on who is straight, bi, pan, omni, asexual, etc etc.  let us find out ourselves.  more personality glimpses yes, but the romances are not important, and are much more fun as a surprise.

It's funny because going into this, Sera wasn't even close to my favorite/most anticipated companion.. but now?

 

I'm truly looking forward to her the most. Not just because her sexuality suits mine, but because there's something about her. In that clip where she's walking and she finds that deceased man, I'm pretty sure that's when I fell in love with her.

The cinematographic crew did good with that scene.  At first, the scene looks innocent enough as we just see her from behind walking through a field but then it cuts to her sad face

How can you not be a fan of the Fem Inquisitor? Have you played her yet? No, then you are judging her based off what to determine you are not a fan? The fact she is female only?

 

I don't get this any of this statement at all. Just because you find someone attractive doesn't mean they find you attractive. This makes the game more like a living, breathing story. Judging by the terminology though I can make a few assumptions however about what is really going on that I am going to avoid vocalizing.

 

If you have not taken the time to play as femShep, I would suggest you do. It might give you perspective. The same for the femInquisitor. Until you have actually played as that character, it is unfair to judge whether or not you like them. Women play as male protagonists quite often and it doesn't alter our beings at all. Perhaps you should try.

I do want to echo this, despite what may seem like some callousness on my part in other discussions.

 

But I think it's akin to being disappointed because we're not going to Nevarra because you really, really want to.  Doubly so because those lucky fans of Orlais will get to wander around the place that they like so much.

 

Hoping for content, and not getting it, is (for better or worse) a pretty common thing.  I always hope for a whole heck of a lot out of games I look forward to.  The trick I developed for myself is to still be open about what I actually do get in my games.

 

But I am the customer, and so I get to determine where I go, who to romance and how hot they have to look. After all, it's my game!

 

So I demand, DEMAND right now that there is an option at the beginning of the game where the player can chose the sexual preference of every companion, so that we can all have the LI we want to have. Oh, and configurable race and bust sizes for companions!

 

Also, I suggest a difficulty level for romance, level "easy" meaning it suffices to tell any companion "nice shoes!" for an immediate explicit, hardcore "romance" scene and eternal devotion that only ends when I want to sleep with the next character.

 

Bioware, you better hear me, or else I will cancel my preorder!
