I think stats are now boosted up solely by the armor you are wearing/weapon you are using and increases from certain skills.

I dont think we actually get to choose our stats this time around, or if we do, they've not shown it during the level up process...

I've been around the skills thread and it seems that certain skills boost certain stats.

I remember one archery passive that looks like it'll turn Sera into a heavy hitter although of the two ranged rogues, I suspect she will get more mileage out of active talents whereas Varric will get more from the passives.

I prefer that though. In Origins, you would have to wait around for ages before you could wear an awesome piece of armour. Then you forget about it when levelling up so you pick the wrong stats. (Well I did at least)

i do as well i have control issues so this design seems off but it actually gives me more control in a sense

It's more streamlined, but diverts enough to keep things interesting and unique.

Since I roll Rogue more often than not, I found f****** up stats pretty hard.
I'm willing to give the new system the benefit of the doubt though.

I'm interested in trying it out. I don't have any strong opinions yet like other people do, but I never found stat allocation in DA to be a particularly memorable experience and I know others did.

It really isn't a memorable experience, you're right.
For me picking skills was the hard part and I stumbled upon a good Rogue build first time round purely by accident.

I'm playing the Last Court still. Its a fun diversion in the mornings and evenings. I have 3 market days left and I believe I already have the amount of things I need for the "good" ending according to some guy in Scuttlebutt (30).

I am, but I'm at the point where I've got pretty much everything I need for when the Divine comes(I think I have thirty something secrets/trophies/viands total). So I'm pretty much just using up the points boosting up one stat and then buying another secret or whatever in case I need more.

I gave up on Last Court, tbh.  To much waiting and text based games are apparently not my thing...now if it unlocked something cool and irresistible in Inquisition then I'd force myself to finish it.  Probably.  As it stands though, I'm done.

I think it has fun writing and if you only play 2-3 times a day spread out, you don't have to wait....I like that a lot better than when I was trying to play it faster. it's not for everyone though, so I'm glad it's not required to import anything into DA:I.

Just saw a review were it says Sera is butt obsessed. Kind of thinking its a typo, but it would be funny as **** to be exploring while she tries to feel up the companions, or just stares lewdly.

That'd be great if she really is butt obsessed and during banter she rates the companions butts on a scale.  If you're romancing her you get rated #1, but depending on how you treat her your rating can go down.
