Shush you! We're having a paranoia party!
Just kidding. That is good news, thanks for pointing it out.

Cass does seem to get a lot of screen time.... i swear if it's another case like DAO.
She seems to be one of the 'cover' characters (along with Varric), so that sounds likely to me.

Some people did complain about the chivalrous/ white knight types always being straight. Both Cass and Cullen fall into that category. Sera breaks the mold of bisexual rogues by being gay, so there's that.
Well I may be in the minority, but I really loved Merrill and she was a good person who didn't want to hurt anyone. She was misguided possibly in her actions but her motives were pure. My poor bby! I just wanted to hold her and kiss it better.
Speaking of, if Hawke is in DA:I then Merrill better make an appearance too! We were practically married!

Indeed.
Still kind of feels like "straights getting more screen time and importance" since Cullen and Cass do show up a lot.
I hope the rest get lots of cutscenes, especially Sera.

Mind you Cullen is gated against two races, so he's not that great a deal and he was a late addition. I think all three advisers will be somewhat 'plot heavy', due to their central role in the Inquisition. We'll probably see lots of Leliana and Josephine too.
That's really harsh on Leliana in DAO. I thought her story was pretty deep even if it wasn't plot critical, and she had her elven song and her DLC. Zevran, however... Yeah he did feel a bit tacked on...

I'm not saying her story was shallow or boring or anything like that. My complaint is that it wasn't 'plot critical' as you put it. Morrigan has the dark ritual and that adds a whole new layer to her relationship while Alistair has 'get the crown' or 'make a heroic sacrifice' as a choice. Nowhere in Leliana's and Zevran's romances did we have anything anywhere this heavy.
That's my problem with those two. Otherwise their romance arcs are perfectly sweet and fun. It just seems a bit unfair that the straight romances are the only ones that get tied to big plot events.
I honestly don't care how relevant Sera or her romance is to the main plot. It sounds like she's an optional companion anyway, which if true means she isn't plot-integral at all.
It does make me wonder why such characters tend to be non-straight. Not something I expect us to find an answer to any time soon.
well while BW is progressive some fans are still... aprehessive of LGBT leads and content and EA tries to make x money. Its sad reallyOh I think their romances are deep, but it's the optionality of the romances with queer content in terms of the main narrative that bothers me. I will enjoy Sera's romance even if it's very separate from the big plot threads...possibly even find that a bonus, who knows. But the idea that they are all sort of shoved to the side has this kind of "remember you're a supporting character, because straight people are the leads, even in a team setting" feel to it.

Those people need to wake up and see that they are the minority.

.... which I worry that this may happen in DAI too.
Well Josephine at least is not an optional character, and neither is she a stereotypical "randy rogue" so I guess it'll be interesting to see how her romance pans out...
Josie is an advisor, though. That puts her in a fundamentally different position from companion characters.
On the bsn yeah but idk about the masses. Im no statistian but i hope your rightThose people need to wake up and see that they are the minority.
Sadly, while that may be the case in the UK and some other countries in the developed world, I'm not sure it's true across all the markets in which EA operates...Those people need to wake up and see that they are the minority.
Not Cullen, though, who was being discussed here.Josie is an advisor, though. That puts her in a fundamentally different position from companion characters.

I meant people who accept LGBT. They don't have to be LGBT themselves. Those who can't accept it are the minority. The worlds changing, and it will happily spit them out.
