Question regarding said mechanic plus minor IB romance spoiler:

So there are only certain flirt options that will activate a relationship, while others won't? Or will all flirt options be marked with that explanation? Will I have to have flirted beforehand in order to even get the option that allows us to activate the relationship? With the Iron Bull one if seemed some flirts must have happened beforehand.

Not all men who played DA2 treat women like shite (yay Sera for teaching me a way round the auto-censor ). Also not all men got offended by Anders hitting on them. I wonder what that Venn diagram looks like...

At this point I really can't tell, but the way Iron Bull talks during that scene, saying he 'caught the hints' certainly implies the Inquisitor flirted with him before. I would guess all the romances operate on a similar mechanic. Talk and flirt a bit, trigger a cutscene. Continue and trigger other cutscenes. I hope we get more than one 'special' cutscene for romances.

Origins and 2 allowed that, at least to a point so it'd be a shame if they stopped it.

 

I suspect BioWare protagonist will always be a gregarious gossip at their core though, we'll see.

Sera is amazingly immature, and I love it! The way she just kept snickering about stealing their pants and had to stop herself every time she was going to say it again. There was nothing in that mission that I did not like, I also liked how she mentions your race.
