It's cool. Not choosing to romance a character doesn't necessarily imply a lack of quality on that character's part. I love a lot of characters across DA and ME but only really romance a select few.

 

Nah, I think she's hilarious as a character, just not my type for a romance. Which is fine, it will however be made harder by the fact that the character that is exactly my type in every way is in the game but not available to me, lol. Oh well.

Yeah, Cassandra sure seems mighty popular in this thread. It must be the allure of a strong no nonsense female leader. No idea why poor Cass gets some hate, I wanted my warrior princess as a companion since I saw her in DA 2. Cass being an LI is bonus. lol

I'll try, but she also doesn't really appeal to me as a romance as well. 

 

Also, I would like to point out...What the **** is up with Bioware in DA giving you the option to kick out the female LI's in basic dialogue but not the "main" straight ones? It's kind of reaching the point where it's messed up. I can tell Sera to straight up leave with probably no negative ramifications but I can't tell any of the other main companions to leave, why?? Just makes me feel like all of the "assumptions" I was making in the romance tropes thread are being proven 100% correct even when Allen said to wait and see.

Allan whathisname gave a sort of survey about things like this. It was about where BioWare fall into the same holes with how romances work and this was pointed out. Hopefully in the next game (DA, ME or new ip), something will be done to change the conventions they use.

Oddly I'm not interested in Cass, at least until I know her better. Not because she's a strong woman. Not because she has short hair. Not because I don't think that she's physically beautiful. I think she's great looking and find those other qualities attractive. What I worry about is her religiosity. I didn't mind it so much in Leliana as her ideas were quite individualistic and she'd clearly put a lot of thought into them, but I suspect that Cass is a bit more of a traditional Andrastean, and it's clearly a very important part of her personality. Not really my type as an atheist...
