No one knows who her voice actress is yet?

nope

Going by the character profile, I'm pretty sure she doesn't find the Inquisition by accident. If by robbing, it's probably only as a show to get attention.

A sort of "hey, I heard you have this thing going, and you'll want me with you" deal. I'm thinking she'll want to give the Inquisitor a reason to recruit her.

I doubt it would be by accident as well. Either a show to get their attention or she has something for them.

She always struck me as more of a "puckish rogue". But my concern is if she goes too puckish/cheeky/etc. We might end up with another Tallis.

As in impudent?

I get the feeling that she is, though not to a large extent. At least I can see her being particularly blunt when talking to her oh-so-dead enemies.

Well I wouldn't really expect a unified impression from so little we have seen yet.  ^_^

What specific elements of your concepts exclude the possibility the character in question could be a woman, not a dude?

(i mean ignoring the first line may be "it's a dude, ok?" and moving onto stuff like personality etc)

You know, I do this too. Roleplaying is the main reason I play these games, and I thoroughly enjoy coming up with new, interesting character concepts. Particularly in DAO, since I felt there was more to do with them there. And my (to date) three Wardens are all male. And I admit that the fact most if not all of my characters (whether in a roleplaying game or a story of my own) are male is a big weakness I have as a storyteller.

It's not that I purposely seek to exclude women. My concepts don't work that way. They are born out of inspiration. And for some reason, my imagination defaults to male, and once that is set, I find it near impossible to change. I plan on rolling a female Inquisitor some time, but it definitely won't be in my first run. I'm already working on a different concept for that.

On Sera, well, I find the reveal hilarious. I wasn't liking any of the revealed female characters in particular (that doesn't mean I hated them, just that they didn't caught my attention with the little information available) but I was beginning to warm up to Sera. Ah, well, so is life, and I cannot say I'm surprised  :D

That isn't necessarily a bad thing.

What made Tallis so insufferable was not necessarily her personality, but the fact that there was no option but to let Hawke be steamrolled by it. He could never challenge her.

You might be on to something.

I'm assuming our incredibly powerful Inquisitor will have every manner of acting to his/her companions. They can either be friendly, be neutral, be stern, etc., so I can see some players knocking Sera down several pegs if her cheekiness overloads.

I think you could challenge her enough. Except as a mage. Then the whole exchange is absurd.

Sera: "I want to join your Inquisition"

Cassandra: "Give us a reason, elf. We are a professional organization, not some merry band of mistfits."

Inquisitor: "Actually, we are.....

Cassandra: "Shut it!"

Inquisitor: "Yes ma'am! Cassandra, ma'am!"

Cassandra: "Anyways, like I said, we don't just recruit anyone."

Sera: "I'm a proffesional archer, exceptional thief..... and I know alot of jokes!"

Inquisitor: "Hired! Welcome to the Inquisition!"

Cassandra: "Wait! Hold on a minute!"

Inquisitor: "I want you to tell me them all! We could really use someone with your skills!"

Sera: "Thank you! I shall do my best!"

Cassandra: "EXCUSE ME!"

Inquisitor: "Yes, what is it, Cassandra?"

Cassandra: "We are not going to hire her just because she knows good jokes!"

Inquisitor: "Oh please, stop beign such a stick in the mud. You can have her archery and I'll have her jokes!"

Cassandra: "But, but!"

Inquisitor: "Men! Let's move out!"

Cassandra: "........"

Sera: "Nice to meet you!"

*takes a deep breath*

Despite... misgivings... I can deal with the fact that Sera cannot be romanced by males.

But can we at LEAST play a male elf and get to romance a female elf who ISN'T a prostitute?

All I want is to have a straight, same-species elf relationship and not have to visit a damn whorehouse to do so!

Just to point out the relevant ...points in the character bio, re: Sera finding the Inquisition:

It’s on the streets of Orlais that the Inquisition finds Sera—or rather, she finds them.

*snip*

The Inquisition is the fastest Sera's ever seen someone “in power” move. She's never had the chance to get in early and make sure those heading to the top stay humble. But there are also big questions that she needs to answer for herself—“hole in the sky” big—and the Inquisition seems like the place to do it.

It's not like we can do it between 2 female elves before. It's just so happen that Sera is gay. I don't know why it's so important for 2 straight elves to get together.

MALE elf PC, FEMALE romance option!

What part of that don't you follow?

Same here, but I doubt we'd be stuck with another Tallis after the reviews of that DLC lol

Yeah, I don't see it. To each their own :)

At first I thought the same, but idk what it was about that trailer that made me change my mind, but it did lol! I wish I could put it into words. :police:

Possible, but I doubt it. This is just my opinion here, and I don't claim to speak for anyone else, but my big issue with Tallis wasn't that she was a puckish rogue, it was that she was thrust into the spotlight at the expense of the regular party. Tallis had all the good lines, and our friends - the people who stood beside us as we faced down the Arishok - were ignored or made to look foolish and worthless by comparison. In a balanced, party setting, with no favorite children or punching bags, she might have been OK.

Because the only way for the elf race to continue is through male and female elf couples.

It's quite important to Dalish specifically.

Roleplaying reasons. And to the elves, that's pretty high on the list of importance.

Let me ask this: Romancing in general is important because...?

Does it have to be elves? This kind of mentality is like when a bunch of white people advocate for white purity because the white race is dying, and I'm not even making this stuff up. Even if they don't look like your race, they would still carry your genes. It's not like the Asari when the offspring is 100% Asari. Besides, it's just one couple, it wouldn't make a different anyway. Maybe because I don't care much about genetics, but there were a lot of people dislike Miranda since she's infertile also. I guess the instinct to pass your genes to your offspring is more important than love?
