That's not what is being discussed. The person wants a male elf protagonist to have a female elf LI. Doesn't have to be Sera.

I'm sure the elves will manage without the male elf protagonist contributing to their gene pool, too. Maybe all things considered they will even be better off.

(I'm using the gene pool figuratively here because it's all magic anyway)

I know that. Just think it would be interesting if brought up is all. Like how Merrill had more hesitation with Male Hawke because of it.

Interesting. I'm not a fan of a Merrill myself, so never explored the LI content. But if she is more hesitant with male Hawke its probably because she is slightly more interested in women than men. There doesn't really need to be an explanation for it, because many people who are bisexual might prefer one gender more than the other. It doesn't have to be an equal thing.

That was the case with Leliana as well. She is slightly more into women.

He can either procreate when the job is done, or if the world end, well it's not going to matter much.

You never seem to end up with DA LI's anyway, so your better off with a nice elven woman from a villiage somewhere.

I think it's more of a general wish that any kind of character has "possibility".. has some kind of life, besides just being some idealized hero type. People want to play with different concepts. This is just one of them.

I felt this way about my female Dwarf in DAO. They just had nothing that meshed well and made them real to me. Except "duty".

That's not what she means.

The hesitation comes from the possibility of having a child with him.

I don't need an explanation for why Sera's gay. I'm just saying I think it might be interesting if she touched on having faced some pressure from the elven community or her family or whoever in the past to have kids due to the elf+human=elf issue giving elves the perception of needing to reproduce a lot more among themselves.

There might have been an arranged marriage (that didn't happen) in her past.

My City Elf almost had to get married :(

I think what they should do is not always have so many humans in their games. Problem solved.

Anyone thinks Sera reminded them of Samantha? They're both a bit flirty and cheery. I would like a scene where she rejects the inquisitor like Samantha did with Shep.

Personally I'm going to avoid building character's that would fit with her as stories based on rejection don't interest me. Happy for the rejection option to be there for others.

Let's steer well clear of anything that could even remotely relate to real world racism, okay people?

Sera doesn't really remind me of any one other character just yet.

No. I'd rather her not mention any of this 'bad memories with dudes so i went with women' case that people put in media 98% of times which it's ridiculous.  Actually i don't wanna hear her mention any dudes. I want her to say that she's gay because she's gay, no more than this.

I wonder.... if Sera was straight, would you ask the same question. I doubt it.

LOL, I never played a male character, so I've never seen any rejection scene.  Not really seeing the comparison to Traynor yet, but we'll see.

Pretty much nailed it here.

We have four humans, 2 elves, one dwarf, one qunari and one demon/spirit/whatever in DAI. That's pretty dam good.

How about a "My parents arranged a marriage for me, even though they knew I wasn't interested. Said I had a responsibility to have children. I snuck out that night; last time I ever spoke to them." type situation?

She's pretty much the gay options, and those who didn't know it before hand may try to romance her, but then it would be leading people on for a disappointment like they did with Aveline. They did say there wouldn't be a ninjaromance, but they never said anything about rejection, right?

I don't know..Sam was pretty introverted.  They don't seem too similar yet.

And yet, here we are! With the most boring straight male options i have seen in a loooong time.

But I have said my piece, and continuing to argue about this will just get the thread locked again. Which is not my goal.

basically this

that's exactly like asking "why are you straight?" it's just stupid

why does there need to be trauma or pain to determine her sexuality? I don't get it

I feel like she's pretty social. Especially at the citadel when she asks EDI for porn. She's also very straight forward with her flirting at the shower and pretty energetic when playing chess game with Shepard. I find her to be very extrovert. She knows what she wants, and she goes get it. It's even more evidence seeing how competitive she is when playing that chess game with the asari at the Citadel. Liara would be more introvert to me since she likes to do things alone.

Seeing as I'm interested in Dorian, Solas and IB I disagree.

It's likely something like this did happen.

I assumed elves got married as early as possible (but over whatever 'legal limit' they have).

I always thought my City Elf was about 18 to start off DA:O.
