We have four humans, 2 elves, one dwarf, one qunari and one demon/spirit/whatever in DAI. That's pretty dam good.

I guess it's OK for DA. I have to expect that.

For something inspired by D&D, they differentiate themselves by playing up the "minority" thing and "lost glory" here. That means dwarves and elves just don't get much spotlight like other settings.

basically this

that's like asking "why are you straight?" it's just stupid

It's because for some reason, straight people need a reason why someone is not straight, it's silly and stupid.

How about a "My parents arranged a marriage for me, even though they knew I wasn't interested. Said I had a responsibility to have children. I snuck out that night; last time I ever spoke to them." type situation?

That's better than 'i used to date a man, didn't like it, went for women'. Some women have never been with men, shocking it may sound to some.

It's likely something like this did happen.

I assumed elves got married as early as possible (but over whatever 'legal limit' they have).

I always thought my City Elf was about 18 to start off DA:O.

Yea, marriage and children seem to be a big part of both elven cultures, so I'd like to see it touched on, is all.

Probably go back to being gay is a choice, and you could only be gay if you're traumatized in some ways. It's pretty ridiculous, but I blame ignorance since they probably don't interact with a lot of gay people.

I feel like she's pretty social. Especially at the citadel when she asks EDI for porn. She's also very straight forward with her flirting at the shower and pretty energetic when playing chess game with Shepard. I find her to be very extrovert. She knows what she wants, and she goes get it. It's even more evidence seeing how competitive she is when playing that chess game with the asari at the Citadel. Liara would be more introvert to me since she likes to do things alone.

You're probably right...I haven't played ME3 in a long time XD

Seeing as I'm interested in Dorian, Solas and IB I disagree.

As in options for a straight male.

That'd be the way that I'd want any direct mention of her sexuality - she's giving a brief summary of what her brand of crazy/adorable is (I mean she IS a BioWare character, that's in the job description), when she does the back story bit, it comes up like that, and there's no further comment on the matter. Maybe, if a male Inquisitor flirts with her, she says explicitly 'I'm not interested in men.'

But yeah, none of the 'I had a bad experience with men, I'm only with women now.' There's a large portion of men who wouldn't take that as a no but as a challenge.

:( it seems my male elven inquisitor will have to deal with it and remain alone. No elven females for him....ehhh now I would like a brothel option with elven females at least :P :))

When someone says 'straight people' doesn't necessarily mean you or anyone else who doesn't think like this. They mean specifically for straight people who are actually asking these.

No. I'd rather her not mention any of this 'bad memories with dudes so i went with women' case that people put in media 98% of times which it's ridiculous.  Actually i don't wanna hear her mention any dudes. I want her to say that she's gay because she's gay, no more than this.

I wonder.... if Sera was straight, would you ask the same question. I doubt it.

Hah! The only logical way for someone to turn out homosexual is because of tragedy or fear of the other sex. Gay people actually realising they're gay just because they just know they're attracted to only the same sex?...Uhm? Bzuh?!

I agree with the sentiment but not so much the wording. On the other hand players are notoriously nosey and lacking in tact.

As i said. Boring.

I dont play a fantasy game for humans, just like i dont play a sci fi game for humans.

But im serious, as much as i want to rant and rant and rant until my voice is heard, i dont want to get this place locked again.

Another vote against a "I used to be with men but didn't like it" situation.

In fact, as an elf, something like an arranged marriage that didn't happen would make perfect sense, IMO.

Fair enough. But like most people here, we all hate generalizations. I've had gay friends. I never asked them this stuff. They're not close friends, but.. still. Just not my concern.

I hate generalizations too, believe me. I guess the wording should've been 'some straight, some etc'

I still like humans. I just want to play different ways from time to time. I love possibilities.

Not to say I still won't do that. DAO was pretty limited, and I still got entertainment from it after 5-6 years. Here's hoping the same here.
