I also think people are going to have a bit of a hard time getting approval from Sera. Though I'm not sure how approval effects your ability to romance a character.

 

As for Sera's location, you can find her here:

Progress with the main storyline till you get access to Val Royeaux. An arrow will be found shot into the ground and that will start the quest to meet Sera.

Red Jenny War Table missions. Which I wish had realized were a way to get/lose approval from her right off the bat, because I lost approval on one when I just sent whatever adviser was free instead of reading it more closely.

It sucks that you get sera greatly disapproves if you side with the mages no matter what. Theres only one way to get approval from her, if you want to know just ask. I can tell theres going to be a lot of Pro Mage players unhappy about this.

I literally just got home and opened my game and guide from the mail, and according to the guide, yeah, it's definitely easier romancing her as a female Qunari. You get big approval boosts from flirts. Apparently it's hardest to romance her as another elf, because "she is concerned about the implications of an elf-elf pairing" so there ya go, lol
