I may end up spoiling myself on the Seromance. The game just didn't appeal to me. I liked the characters, but it felt to me like dialogue took a backseated role to combat and general action. The graphics and sound design were great, but I didn't like the combat nor some of the voice acting. The combat boiled down to button-mashing mayhem for me, and there were some questionable omissions of content that I didn't like. Got my refund less than half an hour before the Great Game Guarantee expired. I love the characters, but I think I'm holding off until the game goes on sale. Sorry, Sera.
I hope everyone else is enjoying it though! Don't wanna be a downer.
Sad to hear that. Ah well, a game can't please everyone. The combat feels similar to DA 2. It has depth to it (which is need on nightmare) but in easier fights/difficulties it does have an arcade beat them up style feel to it.
As for the dialogue, I think there is lots of great dialogue in the game but I could say the same of DA 2 and I know plenty would disagree with me.
The game does have a slow start if you run around the hinterlands doing side quests. You'll spend 10+ hours without making any story progress. If you follow the storyline to get to Skyhold asap then the story will progress at a faster pace.
