No. You misunderstood my response. I'll try again, but nothing kills the player/reader/viewer experience like a writer explaining a character.

I stated in my reply that most character concerns have nothing to do with romance, which was meant to reassure you that this line is not about romance. Because Sera never displays uncertainty about what gender she is attracted to. To understand what does make her uncertain, think about Bull without thinking about romance at all. The things Sera worries about in her dialogues give context to how she might view an outsider who still seems so confident about where they come from. "he's got nothing on you (he's not appealing to me like you are) but that Qun stuff, I don't know (but maybe he's on to something with that philosophy of his)."

To say it plain: Sera is not sexually attracted to Bull. If someone reads it that way, they are wrong, because that single line in isolation can only be interpreted that way if everything explicitly stated by and about her character everywhere else is ignored, both in and out of the game.

Thanks for the comment, I was worried that your initial response was just to blow me off. I'm glad to see that it wasn't intentional, it really means a lot to me. I suppose that if you wanted to make such impression on purpose, you would make it a bit more obvious anyway, so I'm sorry I was unpleasant and that I freaked out, it's just that this kind of stuff happens so often so I'm very sensitive about it.

This thread is too long to read... But I have to admit Sera's odd way of speech was awkward for me. Despite the initial "What did she just say?" reaction... I love Sera. She's unique and clever and perfect!

It's pretty funny starting the game today and coming across her. Before the game came out i had an idea in my head of what her character would be and it's completely different. Having a conversation with Sera is like having a conversation with a person being attacked by Bees with ants in their pants. Not completely sure i love it yet but her accent does have a local charm for me. Not an accent you normally seem to hear in games they go for a more neutral generic English accent normally.

Just met Sera on my playthrough. Wow, the opening dialogue difference between a Qunari and Elf Inquisitor couldn't be more night and day could it?

i know right she has a motor mouth and like half the time i like "what?" It so fits her

Her voice actress is from the East Midlands or there abouts it's an East Midlands accent which is like the forgotten accent. Not harsh enough to be Yorkshire not incomprehensible enough to be West Midlands.

Talking of Tavern songs, it's interesting that the Orlesian one I just heard was in actual French. I mean, yes they have French accents and French-y sounding names, but that's the first time I've heard actual real French in a DA game (Except when I watch a clip of Leliana in the French vesion of Origins.)

 

Anyway, plodding through at the glacial speed that I do, I just recruited my first companion, which of course is Sera. Seems like a good place to stop for the night.

Because they care too much about being elven. Sera beleives in being judged by ones actions and not your herritage. The Dalish are an entitled group like nobles, mages and templars whom she's all iffy about.

I have the most ominous feelings about In hushed whispers, but in terms of roleplaying, it's the only choice for my character, my Dalish dispises Tevinter more than the Templars, so the other quest is a no-go.

It is also her reasoning for "not usually go for other elves" in her romance, because it's an assumed implication that elven parings are very exclusive, which would send a signal she wouldn't want to be stuck with. She's a conflicted person, which I really like

Play it, In Hushed Whispers is one of the best missions in the whole game. I promise you won't regret it.
