Does it matter at what point you go to Val Royeaux? I have a quest (The Fallow Mire/Lost Souls) that is outstanding right now and am not sure if I should head there or proceed with the main quest to Orlais instead. I don't suppose I would miss anything if I went to VR first, right?

Go get her. That quest in the Fallow Mire will wait for you. Going to Val Royaux opens a few more choices, but also allows you to recruit both Sera and Vivienne. Well worth the side trip.

Not everything, but that's where the crit path ones go. I can only remember one secondary thing though:

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but the main story missions are identified by a green puff of smoke above them on the war table. Anything else is optional.

 

I got murdered in Emprise du Lion. I had to go to the Emerald Graves to do some grinding instead. I love that we can send our advisors to essentially do the resource farming for us too. Neat!

 

I think I will have to try a new warrior soon. So far it's mostly been Cassandra. I need to see what Sera has to say to Iron Bull and Blackwall! All the mages are fun to have around, but I find that Sera and Dorian is oddly sweet. She can get the last word with him. I've yet to see Sera get a good one on Vivienne.

I meant in the Journal. So far every main quest I've completed is listed under 'Inquisitor's Path' so I was beginning to think that's the main quest marker for the Journal.

Well, after the ruler of Orlais is decided the Quizzy is standing alone on the bridge and Sera comes out looking for you. She asks you "what's wrong?" when she sees the Inquisitor seems a bit down. You get to respond in three different tones and then she will suggest you come with her to get ****** drunk.

 

You can then agree or you can ask her to dance with you to which she will slightly object to but agree in the end. I can take some screenies if you'd like.

I've been recently using Sera/IB but they hardly banter for me.

Banter doesn't look like it's as common as it used to be in this game. I've spent 12 hours running around with the three starting companions and I can count on one hand how many times they bantered.

 

I hope it just depends on the specific party selection.

I actually enjoy the arguments Sera and my qunari protagonist has, it means she cares and its actually adorable how her and my protagonist are on different religious paths but my qunari inquisitor can easily put it all to the side for her. Plus Sera is a ton of fun and fresh air in a stressful environment.

 

The part in the game when your in romance with her and you choose the aggressive response to her fearing she might loose you, she says" she knows she is not smart" made me feel bad and ironically that statement just reminded me more of how actually well aware and smart she is about her environment or people. Plus the makeup sex is the best lol

Meanwhile, I dressed up my girl Sera in Warden's scout armor, made of Wyvern scales.

 

Don't be fooled, Wyvern scales are much better than Dragonling scales.

I didn't even flirt with Josephine and she was the one to come and talk to me. I think you need to have a romance locked in before the ball or something but i've found it pretty much impossible since the game decides when i can advance things on it's own. I've got as far as her roping me into playing pranks and got a lot of approval from that and at the ball but still when i go up to her i can't get further than the same stuff. I can tell her i like her again but she'll just reply that we should travel around a bit and see what happens. Other people seem to have found things super easy and already have her locked into a relationship well before where i am i don't get it lol. It's like the game doesn't want me to romance or get to know companions.

The combo i have lately is Inquisitor/Sera/Iron Bull/Blackwall and they are freakin amazing. Bull and Blackwall have a bromance going on since they are both huge and love to fight. Sera and Iron Bull come up with random battle plans that get more and more silly and Sera and Blackwall keep finding new names for each other.
