The drama about Sera isn't over yet ?  I'm more happy than ever that Sera is homosexual after having seen some ugly comments on this board, and also seeing how some guys can't get over it. There was apparently an ugly thread locked about Sera. I'm glad I didn't read it. The first female companion denied to straight players and it's a big deal. Wow. A good lesson then. The blonde attractive girl being homosexual and denied to straight guys is actually really interesting. 

 

I guess I'm a little disappointed by the reactions. Ashamed as a straight guy to read how some guys while disappointed couldn't stay stoic. The more people rant over and over, the less I'm inclined to feel bad for them. Move on please, let's talk about Sera, you know, this elf that happens to be homosexual ( yep, deal with it )  among other things ? People knew for months there would be a companion exclusive for female gamers, as there there would be one for male players..People knew that there would be different sexualities. It's almost like they were taken by surprise. Did they just forget this point or is it a strong issue now that Sera is homosexual ? Embrace it, she's gay. 

 

You should have been ready for any outcome with any character in my opinion. Don't. plan. anything. before any confirmation; I told you. And also it's time to move on about the playersexual system, we won't have that in DA:I. Or at least, let's move this topic in the romance discussion, it's spoiling this thread it's boring, it's previsible. I've read more pages about the debate around this system than Sera and her characterization, in the previous pages. That was really annoying. 

 

 Sera is still very interesting as a companion. I wanted to romance her with my male inquisitor, I can't, that's okay, that's interesting, I accept who she is, and that doesn't affect me in any way. There are other parts of her I can explore and that could be awesome. She stays in my party with Vivienne.

Man, I'd love to see some more action stills and gifs of her.  I love the way she moves.   Like a cat, it's so elegant.  I hope the lady Inquisitor can move that gracefully.

I don't really care about her sexuality status. She's going to be one of my favourites regardless of the fact she's lesbian. My opinion of her didn't change one bit after her LI reveal.
I don't really care about that male tears fanart, though I understand why people would be pissed at it. Expecially because not all the straight males came to hate Sera after her LI reveal, or they expressed their disappointment in a civil way.
This forum will be a living hell when they'll announce all the LI and their sexualities. I'll probably switch to my Joker personality in the future .

If it was announced that she was a straight romance option, and a bunch of people started saying stuff like "Ha ha gays, you cant have her!!", how would that make you feel?

 

I'm not disturbed by people being happy shes a lesbian romance option. Im disturbed by the people who are delighted in the disappointment of other people.

 

Its more then just being disturbed in fact. I find those people to be quite revolting.

Hey those man tears are precious commodities! Do you realize how quickly the resources will dry up once the gay/unromanceable males are announced and it's their turn to cackle over our misfortune?

 

Truly though, sometimes hostility towards straight men can get a little overwhelming in certain parts of the internet. Treating someone like **** isn't going to sway them to your point of view, what's worse, this hostility is often used to justify borderline hate groups The Red Pill.

Considering the response to her reveal was ranging from "this ruined the character" to "this ruined the entire game" in some parts, it's not surprising people would feel a tad vindictive.

May we talk about her connection to Red Jenny and what means?  Speculate on that perhaps?  Let's just ignore what those outside of the thread have said about her and focus on her actual character.

 

I wonder if she'll have a small remark if Hawke cleaned up all the streets in DA2 and finished that side quest.  Like how Kirkwall had few gangs and obstacles for the Friends if you finished up that quest.

 

I always found this line (from Act 2 I think) interesting.  This is when you clean up all the gangs for that act and head to the Hanged Man to turn it in:

"We like a calm city to play in.  Enjoy!"

I'd like if those side-quests would have an effect to her opinion. She could say something like that she heard a rumour of the Champion cleaning the streets of Kirkwall, and if in a banter Varric can make a remark about it.

I've always been really confused as to who the friends of Red Jenny actually are. I mean I know they're some sort of street gang who does shady stuff but also works against criminals, but otherwise?
I'm guessing she'll know all about what goes on behind the closed doors of Orlais considering that they seem to have their fingers in a lot of pots. Maybe we'll get to hear about lots of exciting scandals from her.
