Perhaps whoever is the most skilled is referred to as Red Jenny, giving the illusion to those who don't know of a seemingly immortal figure.

Kind of like how Liara took the mantle of Shadow Broker and only a few knew there was a difference.

True, although it seems young.  Still, even in our world people become higher ranking miltary or political figures in their early-mid 20s, so that's plausible.

I was just thinking about the Shadow Broker thing.  To explain for those that haven't played the series: The Shadow Broker is the big information broker in the galaxy.  They know about everything about almost everyone and most of the information is for sale.  Liara, a companion from ME1 and 3, ends up taking over the role.  However, due to a voice disguise among other tricks to insure anonymity, almost no one realizes the difference.

Whatever, if you jerks are intent on this silly argument, I'll take my high-brow humor to the Leliana thread. They can appreciate a good fisting joke or two.

Hey, for the record, I very much appreciated the fisting joke and would like to enquire if there's more where that came from.

Seeing as how The Red Jenny seems to be a rather wildcard organization, Sera being the surprising new head of the Red Jenny would definitely fit her wild card label.

I would direct you to Tumblr but I'm not that cruel and frankly, while there's good information to be found and sensible posts, it feels so crammed with unpleasentness that I just want to stay away from it.

I've seen many on Tumblr that were simply combating the negativity that got this thread locked down earlier from angry posts.

A picture a few pages back with Sera drinking from a cup labeled "man tears".

Several other comments stating similar reactions the day she was announced as a lesbian option.

That's not the same as "haha straights you can't have her!!!", not at all.

The picture, as I've already said, was created due to the heavily offensive comments that were made about her sexuality that resulted in the thread being locked earlier.

Nothing personal, but could you please drop it?  Most of the posters (including myself) agreed it was in bad taste, but I promise that there isn't any of the "ha ha you straights miss out" going on in the thread, other than some light hearted jokes.  Most of us agreed also that too many are getting hung up on her sexuality.

So, with that said, any thoughts about the Friends of Red Jenny and the theory that they might be a part of the elven underground, hence tying them to the rest of the novels as well as to the games?  Or that she could be the new Red Jenny?

"Sera, I think maybe you're being a bit too aggressive back there. I just... I just have this bad feeling in my gut."

Oh wait... I just got that.

Or was there nothing to get and I just made it look like I have a dirty one track mind?

The Warden ended a Blight while younger than Sera. I think she can lead a guild. :P

And yeah, Alexander the Great had already created one of the largest empires in history by the time he was in his mid 20s, and created the second largest one ever by the time he was 30.

Yay for similar lines of thought. :D

Every time I try to come up with a non-perverted fisting joke, it devolves into a chestburster reference, so Maria's already got me beat there.   ;)

You don't even need to go that far back.  Today there are folks that are commissioned officers before they turn 30.  So yeah, it's plausible.

Relax, im leaving.

This thread has left a bad enough taste in my mouth already.

I typically like to consolidate tears of sadness into one big container. Why take pleasure in the suffering of a specific group, when you can enjoy the Baskin Robbins of unhappiness?

Non-perverted fisting jokes? Isn't that a bit like christmas without any presents? i.e. what's the point in that?

I don't think that the FoRJ are a part of the elven underground (and Sera seems to care about poors in general). But in truth I (we) don't know enough about them to be sure.
If they're not part of the elven underground, I wonder which will be her opinionof Briala.

The ME forums is that way.   ;)

Joan of Arc led armies as a teenager.

She also was of noble birth and education.  While Sera seems like a very smart cookie, elves in DA generally can't claim that.  I think a teenager in that position is stretching it (reminds me of a JRPG,) but we both agree that someone in their early 20s could be the head of an organization like that.

There's a very, very big difference as I've already explained the context of the picture.

Yeah i was thinking along similar lines 'dread pirate Roberts' from Princess Bride where 'Red Jenny' is merely a title that gets passed down to multiple individuals over time.

I'm afraid that the DAI forum may turn into another hate-filled place like the previous forums once the game comes out. I mean, look at all the fighting from one announcement.

Yeah but I also like tears of joy, which primarily exists in the DA forums right now. I have a feeling that'll change dramatically when the game is actually released though. It can be the next coming of Jebus and it'll still have very vocal critics.

Seeing as how pretty much every character already has a devoted fanbase, there's going to be plenty of tears to go around before the game's release.

Fortunately there are some wonderful fanartists out there to wash away the tears when the pain gets to be too much

They can be perverted, they just have to be relatively SFW...Maria had a pretty good one, took me awhile, but it gave me a good laugh when I got it.

All good.

If we just not fight, ignore, report the ones being big jackasses and move on, then it doesn't have to be that way.  ;)

You said unhappiness, you never said anything about tears of joy. :D

Anyway, it's a video game and I've found gamers can be some of the most critical consumers of media out there.  Besides, BioWare is under a microscope big time after the reaction to the ME3 ending and the extremely rushed development and release of DA2.  I'm ignoring all of them.  I'm pre-ordering the Uber Edition for the PC on Monday.
