Cole is their "little babbu", he always gets a pass.

@tinis, luv your avatar. ;)

Well, I don't think Cole is the problem here but the hypothetical Inquisitor that wants to use his ability to evade Sera's thoughts.

He can make people feel better about something that was troubling and then they forget that it was he who helped.

If you're talking about getting Sera to the point where she's comfortable opening up to the Inquisitor about her past that's something different and more complicated.

Maybe all that'd be needed is solving the issue that was troubling her about letting herself be open, and letting the Inquisitor do the rest.

The problem with your approach Xil is that it's intrusive even if the intentions are good. Have Cole poke around her mind to find what hurts, have him tell you and use that to 'help' Sera heal. That reeks of manipulation. If Cole does it of his own accord? Maybe but it's still iffy. And Cole's ability to make people forget about him would probably freak Sera out if she found out about it.

As Roaming Machine said, Sera is someone who requires a lot of patience. And even if she tore down her walls, that might not make her more accepting of Dalish beliefs and culture.

Also helping someone overcome their issues so they can be happier is one thing. Overcoming their issues so they will be more to your liking is not a nice thing no matter how you do it. The basic intention is important too.

This is overcoming issues so that she can be happier. She's clearly fracturing upon the Arbor Wilds revelations.

@wildorchid heh thank you, i drew it actually! :) I plan on drawing more Sera stuff too, once college is over... I want to draw my adaar singing the tavern song, maybe sera won't think it's so creepy anymore ;)

yes yes yes, Sera x Adaar is best for me. ^_^

Ngl, i really like the song's lyrics...

I can't play a qunari. The ending of the war table path for the Dalish clan is too good, and the consequences if left undone too dire.

thank you! I don't think my entrance was very good anyway, no 'say what 8)' and stealing people's breeches hahaha hope i didn't look too annoying, i just really care about miss arrow in your face :P

Oh, just look out, or you might find your breeches gone, and a dagger in your back...

(Yeeeah, while I'm generally trying to be funny and all, my fighting style in most games is more akin to that of Cole... "Now you see me, now you're dead... If you ever saw me")

If she doesn't know that you know, wouldn't she just continue to be evasive?

Manipulating her like this just isn't healthy. Let her open up on her own time.

BioWare, there's a bug on the forums. I can't like this post as many times as it deserves.

Cole Method is invasive as f*ck, thus a VERY F...ING BAD THING.

Mind probing = NOT COOL.

I've been depressed long enough to know that, when we try to shut people out of our minds so that we can cling to our misery, we're being ****** idiots.

Times like these, I wish I actually had the powers I'm supposed to have.

I'd probe the hell out of your mind.

But I think that stuff is bollocks. And no, you do not want to ask. I look crazy enough as it is.

That's one thing, but someone who would force his way in? I don't care that Cole is a spirit and operates on different logic. That's invasive as all get out. His making people forget him afterwards is incredibly disturbing to me. I won't remember a thing after this guy pokes around my mind? That's like drugging someone then performing surgery on them without their knowing. Sure, they'll wake up feeling a little better and you can say it's for their own good, but it was still forced on them. And Cole can make them forget him, but not the effect he had.

How would you feel if someone tricked you into taking anti-depressants? It's deceptive and I hate to be deceived.

I don't like being deceived, but if someone somehow managed to trick me into doing something that I need to do but keep refusing to for whatever stupid reason, I wouldn't remain angry for long.

Let's think about that.

Hi, Sera, so surprise you're a fictional character, and there's this place in another world beyond your comprehension where they discuss you - which you'd hate - and right now they're discussing Cole - who is also a fictional character - who you hate. I know right?

If Sera had anxiety and depression alone to deal with, I'd agree with you. But in her case I suspect a trauma in her past that she has buried so deep that she is not only unwilling but completely unable to talk about it. It's there in her subconscious all the time but her conscious mind just closes its eyes, covers its ears and goes LALALALA really loud. If Cole would do what you suggested and started talking about that thing she has buried...Seras mind would snap completely and she would kill him before he finished his first sentence. You just can't force the issue with a deeply traumatized person. Slowly, gently helping them along as they themselves work to find their way out of the maze the trauma has created is the approach I would choose. Those walls simply won't come down until she feels safe enough with us to let go.

Oh, and I don't think she's ever met a Dalish before quizzy. Fereldan Dalish are reclusive and she's an avowed cityslicker. She just dislikes them based on the stories, also tied in to what I wrote earlier her and elfiness.

Fun fact: Did you know Sera recites poetry? And is actually really frigging good at it? That rooftop is a magical place I tell you :D
