thats what i like about her she has believable views and its been said she cares about the now rather than x issue. Dont get the hate i find her a breath of fresh air

I think not, the writers are allowed to write characters they way they want them whether they're a romance or not

agreed i think we need more characters that are "like" sera people who have varied views but understable instead of falling into lawful or chaotic alignments

Well, Sera is racist, religiously bigoted and probably transphobic, and I can tell this from in-game dialogue. I find it a bit hard to call her abusive, though, due to her being utterly unintimidating.

 

I am, however, pleased by the reaction all in all. Hopefully it discourages Bioware from repeating this.

 

I don't see her as racist, personally.  No matter how rude she is about not caring about being an elf, she doesn't actually hate elves...she'll romance one, she cares about the elves in the Orlesian ball, she's not a monster.  This is one of those things that keeps getting passed around as fact, but I don't see it.  Making farting noises at Solas isn't racism.  The religion thing...she's scared.  She is Andrastian, and honestly, I don't think someone who believes otherwise should get involved with her romantically.  She doesn't want to debate her beliefs, even with a friend, and why is she the bigot for having that point of view?

 

The transphobia thing, yeah, but there are SO many unfortunate remarks throughout these three games, that are either misogynistic or transphobic, but Sera is currently being held to a higher standard than any other character.  Nobody taught her to be tactful, or kind, based on what we know of her adoptive mother.  She doesn't even know that she should be trying to be a better person.  And it feels, quite frankly, like she'd be damned no matter what, by this fandom.

She has a banter with Cole where she changes it again and I've seen a youtube video where she used a fourth one I haven't seen mentioned in other places.

You don't have to hate a race to be racist against it, far from it. As for religion... not only are Solas and Iron Bull the only non-Andrastians in the party who can be romanced, but yes, I believe that anyone unable to debate their religious beliefs is, at best, an intellectual and spiritual weakling. And when Sera extends this into calling the Dalish Inquisitor stupid for following their own religion, it enters bigotry, yes.

 

Which romanceable characters are noticeably misogynistic or transphobic who are being supposedly passed over? And if Sera doesn't know that she should be a better person, why can we not show her, as with Isabela.

Sera is more difficult to romance with an elf, puts down elves on a few occasions, is surprised with herself for being in a romance with an elf if you romance her, and refers to elves as bags of turkey necks.  Yeah, I am pretty sure she is racist against her own race, it may not be hateful racism, but its definately racism.

you get sex but it fades to black. you basically just make out and then roll into darkness. I actually haven't tried going with her advice because that is the king of gross.

You mean just the first half of the scene, when they're clothed? Or a version of the second half without the dialogue?

 

It's weird they tied part of her scene to an interaction with a character people might not even have, because they didn't recruit her or she left.

Yeah just the first half I guess they where trying to see if you wanted to see the sex scene or not.

 

With out full out asking "yo do you want to see boobs or not?". I'm actually glad they kind of gave you the option. Because my grandpa walked in my room just as it faded out.
