You get it when you lock the romance, i.e. the confession scene.
Yeah, I definitely think that it's a bit silly to associate that with transphobia. It's not like she was insulting anyone. She's just a bit ignorant.
Yeah, she's pretty much demonized on tumblr (ofc tumblr: who thought Sera would be the Thedas version of tumblr
) for this lame line that has been said ONCE, ignoring the fact that Sera dislikes orlesian nobles. Not to mention she didn't even made a nasty comment about Krem at all and he "lives" in the tavern where Sera has her place and more importantly, she's good friends with IB. Don't we all think we'd get a banter about this matter? So that's why i think ppl are taking this line way too seriously, IMO.
Also like Ailith said, this person could've been a crossdresser even, we know absolutely nothing of this person.

None of the regulars in this thread have done anything to suggest that they're not cisgendered, but the Krem thread unsurprisingly has some posts by transgendered people. We cis folk are obviously the huge majority, but I suspect that there are more trans people around than many people realise. I knew one trans woman who only told really close friends how she felt about her gender, decided against surgery and lived the vast majority of her life as a man, because sadly in our society that caused her least friction.Ok, so... we are all cisgendered? Well not everyone of course. I'm "On this side of gender" apparently.

I iz duin nuthn. My grama is algud. Sooo...

Before it came up had any of the regulars done anything to suggest that they are cisgendered?

There does seem to be a certain vocal subset of the trans community who are bent on taking offence and making enemies of everyone. I guess they have good reason to be angry with the world, but they often seem to end up pushing away people who are very much on their side, which I find very sad. ![]()

That was exactly my point.
Edit: I meant to suggest that no one had said anything either way, but obviously cis people are in the majority in general.

I find it hilarious because they continue to expect people will look at them like they're a freak. It will never get better until they can see no one gives a s*** whether they are transgendered or not.

I didn't even know what cisgendered was.

Well sadly there are a lot of people who do give a sh*t and treat them awfully. You seem to be under the impression that everyone in the world has as liberal and accepting an attitude as you and I. Unfortunately that's not the case, and if you fit the norm (a straight cis white male like me), you might not ever experience the horrible people, because you're not the one that they're targeting.

It's ignorance that needs to be purged from the gene pool. Seriously, acceptance should be taught in f***ing childhood from pre-school age. And parents, they need to step outside and see they aren't living in the same age they were growing up. If they can't do that, they have no use in todays society.
Oh, did you guys know Biowaremod02 has gone dark?

I think we've made progress as a society, but there's still a long way to go. I've had the p*ss taken out of me for walking down the street in a bowler hat FFS. That's just me wearing something mildly eccentric. Imagine how it feels when what you consider to be the core of your identity is thought of as wrong or abhorrent or inferior by some people. It makes me mad too, but all we can do is keep fighting to make it culturally unacceptable to act like an ass.

But so long as there are people who accept it, why should it matter what a person who failed at life whilst they were still in the womb thinks? They are culturally inferior and are becoming a dying species. They are the neanderthals and are quickly being wiped out by us more evolved beings.
Personally I felt it was more she was just pointing out different people, or random facts that she knew/had learned about the people around her...
Not random at all - she paired that with such things as having STD, beating a squire or being result of inbreeding - obviously meant as knowing shameful secret about those people.

Aaaaand steering this tub back towards the golden girl!
It's time for another episode of Strange-enough-normal!

Yeah, I don't want to start a literary battle here. This is a place of love and joy, not hate and pain.
I think we've made progress as a society, but there's still a long way to go.
Change flows both ways as well. Nothing gained should be taken for granted.

Ah but... Does Sera personally think that all these things are shameful, or does she simply know that they consider them shameful and hence they could be used against them as part of the grand game? Can you truly judge that from one comment?

I think it's a dig at the masks. They don't hide anything.
