I wrote arrow? F***... And I like those odds... c'mon, lets do it.

oh very well.

So, does that mean I'm an ******* if I romanced her?

Yay. So very nice of you.

Well, I romanced her too. Or actually, not I - it's our characters to blame.

It's hardly exclusive to Sera. I find that Jack-romancing Shepards from ME2 are rather shady too, for instance.

How so?

I'm under the impression that the issue with Jack stems from the 'magical sex healing' criticism (it seems too easy for romanced Shepard to make all her emotional problems go away or whatever ).

I've seen the opposite criticism against Sera, that you can't change her/help her deal with her past simply by romancing her.

To me it wasn't transphobic at all. You are taking one line completely out of context.

I think it's fair to say in it's context that remark wasn't a positive one. I don't think it can be extrapolated to indicate much about her wider views however.

Just because I know how to use a bow, properly, doesnt mean I can shoot an apple off of your head. I'd say that's about a 1/10 chance, maybe lower. depends on how one is doing on any given day. and the conditions.

Might as well give it a shot though, you've got nothing to lose.

I rolled a d20 for this. I got a 19.... I'd say that's a hit. since poodle is technically flat footed, which means a base armor class of 10.... but its a -2 for a called shot.... soooooooooooo yea....

I have no idea about you, but nope. To me it wasn't transphobic at all. You are taking one line completely out of context.

And nope she can't. Iron Bull is really fond of Krem, he literally gets mad when you ask Krem if he is a woman. And iron bull wouldn't tolerate a person who's transphobic at all. And he likes Sera. So there's that. No proof she's transphobic at all.

I really can't wait for another accusation to laugh.

Context doesn't leave any doubt that it was intended to be shaming. And IIRC, you said it yourself that it was due to ignorance (and also mentioned that it was maybe about crossdressing - as if that justified it then) rather than transphobic beliefs - so following your reasoning, how could she be so ignorant about it if she's friend of IB for whom Krem is so important?

And you know, I didn't mock you just because I don't like what you have to say. I bring lots of arguments for my claims. So could we keep it civilized?

First transphobic, now underage? Anything else?!

I can't with people. I really can't.

They're just trying to make us feel like pedophiles, don't worry about it.

Jack romancing Shepard is the best, you think otherwise...

Sorry, I'll stay on the Tali side of the force.

How many people know how to use a bow effectively and properly? Not a lot of people nowadays.

I'd love to...

But alas.

My entire experience is some ten shots, loosened some two years ago (mind you, you do not say "FIRE", but "LOOSE" if you're commanding a line of archers. Mwahahaha.)

None hit the target.

Well, I romanced her too. Or actually, not I - it's our characters to blame.

Blaming me is one thing. But blaming Arianne? She fell in love!

You can't help it if you're in love! Or so I'm told...

I don't think it changes anything in that context, but if you wish to analyze that point, here you go - was Blackwall a nobleman? IIRC he mentions a chevalier wanting to take him for a squire.

He had just won the melée in a big tourney at the time. I don't know how it works in Thedas, but historically that would mean that yes he was. At the least he had the opportunity to elevate himself to higher rank by becoming a squire - one that he seemed to regret turning down.

Yes, it could be ignorance, it could be anything (only her writer could confirm it actually). And about the Krem thing, what IF Sera knows he/she is a crossdresser indeed and used that remark to point that out instead of this person being a trans? You do know Sera literally hates the orlesian nobles for being such hypocritical people and fake a lot of things?

Yes, Sera says a lot of ****. What drives me crazy is the hypocrisy that beats a lot of people here on bsn.

Nice expression.

No, I agree, but I also don't think it can be dismissed as not being intended as a slur like some have, though your post possibly wasn't he best to say that in response to.

Have them in your party. Blackwall doesn't say just one line, his stance on Dorian is side eyeing material at best. Or probably they became friends later on somewhat and i missed it.

Solas also makes remarks, calling Viv a wh0re or something along that line, sees himself as somewhat superior and thinks he's always right. Other people pointed out annoying things from party members i don't use much so take that with a grain of salt.

Besides, one two lines from Sera and she gets marked as the worst thing ever happened. Smh.

A lot of IF's and headcanons to make that remark not seem transphobic (if that was due to ignorance, the remark itself was still transphobic BTW).

And it's not merely about faking anything, so I don't see how is it supposed to work. She's pairing that up with having STD, illegitimate children due to fornicating, beating those below you or being a product of inbreeding - and being female to male trans person or crossdresser, summed up with disdain to show how awful Orlesian nobility is.

But like I said, I have the problem with writing, not the character. She's no real person, so I doubt such remarks, directed at members of discriminated real life minority, were accidental. What reaction those words will cause was pretty obvious.

Wait, what were you aiming at? Actually nevermind.

I'd make the apple it's own target, so base 10 + size (+4?). Which is still a hit, seems too easy.

Well after reading the last few pages I guess that there are a lot of people that don't know my history so I probably should step up now. I've been hesitate to because of the way I've been treated here, there is always the fear of being treated different or being rejected. It's not a secret though as I've mentioned it in a post before, I've been legally female for almost seven years.

I was born in a male body but my brain always told me I was female, which made for a rather horrible childhood. I always knew that I had to keep it a secret but I never knew why, not until I told my parents when I transitioned. My parents screwed with my head when I was a child told me I was male and to get those thoughts out of my head but I couldn't remember it until I saw their reactions, they made me feel less than human. They either didn't want a child that was different or they didn't want to see me get hurt. I've lost family and old friends over this, so it has always made me hesitant to say anything because I'm always scared of being hurt again.

I never intentionally meant to mislead anyone but I've blended into society so well for so long that I just wanted to be myself. Blending in has it's own problems but it's so much easier than standing out. So many people like me have been made fun of, hated and much worse. When you blend in and no one knows who you were you find yourself trapped, you have to hide your entire history which was more difficult than I ever imagined it would. I just got tired of hiding and that's why I made this post.

http://forum.bioware...ons/?p=17365090

I just wanted to get that out of the way as sometimes in this thread I feel that I'm still hiding.

Now getting back to Sera I struggle to understand her sometimes and didn't catch the line mentioned until later when people started talking about it. The line doesn't hurt me but there have been many posts on the boards that have. With the Talk about Krem there were posts that hurt me more than I thought possible. I've seen posts that were ignorant to Krem and trans people in general. Things aren't all bad though seeing the Krem appreciation thread has for the most part been a breath of fresh air for me.

I hope you understand and can accept me as I've enjoyed my time here more than you can imagine.

You have no reason to hide here and yes, i've seen some.... posts about Krem which are far more worse than this single one line Sera said.

I shudder to think what people say about Krem in other forums and youtube (well youtube is a pile of smelly shite anyway, nothing new)

I for one accept you wholeheartedly, and do my very best to understand, but then I hope that much would have been obvious from my comments here and in the Krem thread. I hadn't seen your other post, as I don't tend to read too many other threads on these boards at the moment. I don't think you've mislead anyone at all. As poodle said, It really shouldn't be an issue, and I feel sorry and that you've been through so much crap in your life. (And angry with those close to you who couldn't accept you for who you are.)
