true but sera is the wildcard her shite cant be easily gauged. That doesn't sound like Sera though. She hates fade creatures regardless of whether their helpful spirits like Cole. And she hates Elfy stuff even if her love is devoted to the Dalish religion. Being selective would imply that's willing to be flexible in her morality and prejudices, she's obviously not.

No need for her to antagonize Iron Bull when he's not the subject of her ire.

Preferably an explanation for all of her personality issues, but it'll need to be good, because it's something Cole couldn't dredge up.

Hey gang, just finished the game, quicker than I expected and I took my sweet sweet time with it, did as much as I could before taking the final plunge. And ha I'm not even gonna attempt to read back all I missed here I'm lazy as fook, hope you're all well nuglets.
Soooooo I came back early cos I need to talk about this somewhere lol. Hope you all enjoyed the game and Sera.
Oh and as my promised some screenies of my Dalish warrior Inquisitrix Caoimhe.
Spoiler
I'm still pretty stunned by alot of things. Like I don't know what to feel, like just, stunned I can't really think of another word to describe my thoughts on completion. So much of what I believed was turned on it's head, loved the game really really did but man did it hurt having to learn the truth behind the Dalish. Ironic really, the Vallaslin which they held so precious to their identity turned out to be marks of oppression all along and coming back to Sera lol god lord that relationship was fiery as hell on my end, I'm uber elfy, we disagreed alot, ALOT.
I was expecting her to break up with me at some point but it never came from her however I came really close to breaking it off after what she said after the Temple of Mythal, man not a good time to say such things to my fiercely proud Dalish elf. That annoyed the life outta me, really rubbed me the wrong way, I paused for sometime on what to do in that scene next but then she pleaded with me to take it back, sooooooo I grudgingly had to swallow some pride there to continue the relationship. Like I said it wasn't an easy going relationship, was all the more interesting in a way because of this but she wasn't at all what I expected, was hoping for some more insight into her life as a city elf, hmm got a few bits here and there, oh well.
Also lol congratz qunari fans you are the master race when it comes to Sera, noticed this in the official game guide and I've seen vids with Sera and a fem qunari, ha you lot had it easy when it came to romancing her. Us poor elves had to really really work for it, seeing as she is sorta a self-hating elf in a way. Had a bit of work getting her approval to swing in my favour, as I said earlier it was a fiery playthough, we argued alot.
I enjoyed the romance, some of her lines and scenes were goddamn hilarious, she wasn't coy, not one bit, pretty upfront about what she wants, no complaints there. I enjoyed her fun attitude at times, loved her passion once you begin to get deeper into the relationship with her, she had some sweet cute moments, she was hilariously protective of the Inquisitor, sorta nuts but in a good way, that argument with Vivienne over her relationship with the Inquisitor comes to mind, goddamn that was magnificent in it's awkwardness and it was sweet in a bat-**** crazy sorta way.
Other times she annoyed the bloody life outta me, came off as bratty on occasion, didn't give a fig much about her own heritage, mocked Solas when he discussed elf things in my presence wanted to turn around and tell Sera to zip her lip whenever that happened!!! So to avoid me being completely turned off by her when she did this I stopped taking her to elven missions and such. Made me grit my teeth too much when she mocked Solas on those occasions, also didn't like her attitude towards Cole. I wanted to give him a hug when she called him creepy, I liked Cole. But like I knew this was coming but still *hugs Cole*.
I found Solas fascinating, easily one of my favourite characters in the game. Adored him, loved all his discussions about the ancient elves, the Fade and such, wonderful character. He surprised me in so so many ways, like he surprised alot here, him and Cass were my two favourite companions by a mile.
(Yes I flirted with Cass every opp I got, it was glorious
)
This game was full to the brim with elven lore, oh how I adored it all, even the sad tragic truth we learned about the ancient elves. Also loved the Winter palace mission, after reading the Masked Empire (loved that book) yes I did squee when I bumped into Celene's champion Michael, seeing Briala, Gaspard and of course the empress herself. Found it odd though that they changed Briala's skin tone, in the books if I recall she is described as having a darker colour in contrast to Celene's fair white skin. In the game Briala is a pale as me, odd but eh.
The ending though, felt I dunno anti-climatic in a way, good ending don't get me wrong but it left me wanting. Kinda thought it would be more of an epic showdown, I took Cory and that arch demon down way too easily, didn't even crack out a potion on myself, but then again I was level 24 going in, like I said took my sweet sweet time, didn't want this game to end. Now that it has I'm undecided on what I'll do for my second playthrough, alot has changed for me on completion, my original ideas won't do now. Oh these first world problems.

That still doesn't explain why she never mentions Krem in a negative attitude to the Inquisitor. I remember her talking about how she hates all the magic my Inquisitor been using. The same goes for the Dalish stuff. So, if she was transphobic why would she not talk about it and be rude and dismissive about it like everything else she hates?
Look, Sera as a character has some serious issues that are understandably quite repulsive to most players, but I don't think transphobia is one of them.

Krem never comes up. Also, it doesn't have to be hatred, just a certain degree of disdain.
I will freely admit that Sera might just be badly written and have an inconsistent transphobic line thrown in for no reason. But that's not good either.

And trying to brand people who has a different interpretation of what Sera says is wrong
I was not talking to you, also the analogy of saying someone is gay is not the same, why even use she-male, seriously?
I am saying this only one time, saying that someone is one gender when they are clearly not, in the same phrase that you call people awful names. What do you think that is suppose to mean?
It is a way to hurt people and bad mouth them. Misgendering people hurts and can have really nasty consequences and traumas. Sera did said that, just accept it, she is not perfect.
Actually what I find disappointing. is people trying to paint a way out of that, there is not way out, the writer cannot explain that.
I still find positive things about Sera but I am not going to stop criticizing the way she was written nor her faults. And that is the end of it for me.

I thought everything after the Temple of plot things was fairly poor really, until after the end boss battle or so then interesting plot things started happening again. I didn't find it a satisfying ending on any level, and after finishing I felt kind of disappointed with the whole game. Playing again I can see the game is a lot better than I felt at the time, though it won't make any best ending lists.

when saw him i was like "pfft i kick your arse once i can do it again" then he gave a monologue and owned me and then i was "ok... shite just got real... are villagers safe yet?" I was very impressedI also felt the ending was a bit lackluster. Corypheus had all the potential to be a compelling villain, and he had his moments, but he got kind of dumped at the end in favor of other things...cool things!!! But had he been executed better at the end. I think it would have felt more satisfying.

Real talk here, I'm sorry about the she-male comment. I used it because I assumed that Sera would have had to make a comment like that for people to think she's transphobic, but then again you don't necessarily have to be so blunt to be so.
Anyways, I don't what to say about that this stuff. I mean for we know the person Sera was talking about wan't even a transexual, maybe its just someone in disguise or something. Who knows. I'm just bothered that one comment from Sera makes her transphobia, Varric and Solas talk about the constant follies of humanity and most people wouldn't call them anthrophobia or xenophobic. Sera deserves to be criticized for her fear of magic and willfully ignorance and hatred of Dalish culture, and her general stupidity. But being transphobic. I just don't see it. Sera can be trashed for things that are blatantly part of her character and our frequently mentioned by her or other characters in the game. This though just seems like people digging in the metaphorical trash bin for more reasons to hate her when there's already plenty that you can complain about that is far more legitimate.
That said, if you see her as transphobic then your right, but if I don't then I think I'm right also. Were both right and both wrong because ultimately these are just matters of opinion, opinion can't be objective when comes to defining someone as either transphobic or not. Its just a social construction made up by people after all.

Hahha I meant more on a narrative level. Corypheus is this guy who was arrogant enough to try to break into the hall of the gods, and then was completely broken by what he found. His memory shards if you side with the Templars are really intriguing, because he seems to genuinely be spiritually distressed and also expresses regret over lying to Calpurnia.
I like the 'Templar' path after you get Skyhold so much more than the mage one...but I really like "In Hushed Whispers"...ugh...sucky choice.
And his cry of anguish to a god that he no longer believes exists...demanding an answer from Dumar, (who is the god of Silence! I was sort of expecting that to be referenced)...was very powerful.
That was my fave part lol.

I would have liked to have seen more of that, tbh. Have the ending feel like it was more linked to the themes of the game than "stab big guy a lot until he dies, LI smiles at you*, party!"

This why the DA universe desperately needs therapeutic clinics. A lot of archvillians could have gone on to have a productive and happy life if they only had someone to talk about their deep-seated anxieties.

This game had plenty of jaw dropping reveals for me, really enjoyed it, but still wished the ending was a bit more epic, the final showdown felt flat. But that epilogue scene oh boy, still stunned.
And waves back at everybody. ![]()
Hmm I was disappointed that I had no option to reach a middle ground with Sera after the Temple, like my elf was raw after all that happened there. I raged at her mocking in that scene, total turn-off. Can't say I'm too pushed to do another elven playthrough with Sera again.
Also where did my Dalish elf learn to dance? I was far too smooth at the Winter palace. ![]()
